I am currently breastfeeding my 3 month old son and had an episode of mastitis where she saw me and put me on antibiotcis, provided relief measures and was very sympathetic towards my problem. She told me that nursing was one of the hardest things women do during their lifetime with being sleep deprived with a newborn and recent pregnancy. I have friends who did it with no problems so thought I would be the same but she stressed the importance of pumping and feeding regularly to keep from getting engorged which leads to discomfort and possible mastitis. I hope this is the only time I have this problem!

Saw her for a lump in my breast and she was very helpful and concerned. She got me set up for a mammogram, ultrasound and then biopsy. She called me the very next day to let me know it was benign and set me up for a follow up . I received excellent care from MUSC’s breast center
