I Love Dr Girard. She has been my Dr since2007 she to take over for my Dr who retired. She is so caring and very sweet. Very busy but you can bet you money she will make time for you if you need it. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for a fabulous Dr.

Want to respond to the comment about Dr. Girard having a high c-section rate. First not sure where you are getting your info but you are incorrect. Docs just can't elect to schedule a c section without medical reason! That is controlled by the hospital. You can not even be induced without proof of prior of medical reason. So you are incorrect in your statement. More than likely your delivery just didn't go as planned and you are bitter. That practice is one of the few that support VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean section) so you really need to get your facts straight. And you are looking at numbers without knowing any medical history on patients of you think you know her "high rate" you have no idea what they where for, she may have so called numbers because she has a high patient population because of her quality of care. Patients are always quick to,point fingers and blame when things just don't go as planned for reasons that are uncontrollable people.

I love Dr. Girard. She has been taking care of me since 2007. I have never known a doctor to be so thorough and compassionate to my needs. I am just days away from having my first baby and I'm so grateful to have her as my doctor. She has always had mine and my unborn child's best interest at heart. No matter what I completely trust her 100% and I never go against her medical or personal opinion. I don't care how long I spend at her office. She is well worth the wait and I don't care how I deliver my child as long as it's the most safe for the two of us and that's what most important and I know Dr Girard feels the same way. My sister started to see Dr Girard about half way through her pregnancy and couldn't believe how different and wonderful she was compared to the doctor she had before. She was so glad she listened to me. She agrees with me on how safe and comfortable she feels with Dr Girard.

I had to opt for Dr. Girard cause my doc wasn't available on the day of my appt. I got to the office on time but waited literally 60 mins to be seen. She was very apologetic and pleasant so when I had a question about the delivery of my child which was after hours the answering service informed me that I would have to speak with Girard because my doc wasn't available. I waited over 30 minutes to get a call so I called again to inform that I haven't received a call yet and Girard called around 5 minutes later. I asked my question and she rudely told me that my question could have been answered by her staff and that I also should have asked my doctor about this not her. It wasn't what she said but how she said it on top of the fact that I was not given the option to ask my doctor nor did "her staff" answer my question that could have been answered by them. I didn't appreciate her tone at all and if I have to see her again due to lack of docs available I will definitely reschedule my appt. Not professional at all!

I went to Girard a few times for some health issues, and thought she was very pleasant, thorough and kind. I am at another practice, simply because I rec'd a recommendation from a nurse from an ER visit when I was in-between practices. I didn't go for OB issues, as I wasn't pregnant at the time, but felt as though the dr was really into sending me to other specialist,but that is very ok with me. I think most do if you need speciality treatment. That was the only issue, if any. I also think most drs do epidurals and csections anymore, unfortunately. In fact, my new practice's delivery dr for my newborn barely had time to deliver, but she was in the hall talking to a friend-the nurse and I were the ones hard at work. I just think, unfortunately, most drs do opt for c-sections. I feel that Girard was very compassionate about her patients in every way.

This comment is being posted by Dr. Gigi Girard. I wanted to respond to the comment posted here. It is simply not true what is stated here. I am absolutely supportive of natural childbirth. I trained in Denver Colorado and have A LOT of experience with mothers desiring natural childbirth. I perform csections if they are medically indicated. Our practice is one of the few in Louisville that does VBAC. I support epidurals if the PATIENT wants an epidural. I love my job and I am blessed to support women during one of the most wonderful experiences of their life.

Dr Girard's cesarean rate is appalling. Women's bodies are designed to give birth, usually with little to no intervention. Dr Girard is not supportive of natural childbirth. She prefers that all of her patients get epidurals. She does not support birth plans. If you want an induction and subsequent cesarean, or just an elective cesarean, this is the doctor for you.
