Dr. Galpin has been my doctor for over 25 years. When I have lived out of the state or country, I never questioned the effort or cost to get to him because he has been the ONLY doctor I have found that genuinely cares about his patients. He has NEVER fallen asleep on any visit I have had with him; however, if he did, I wouldnt blame him because he pushes himself beyond any other physician I have ever seen despite his own physical challenges, when he doesnt feel well or has been up all night researching or caring for a patient. As for the waiting, years ago, he was supposed to cut back on his patients for his own health, he cut down his office size by 2/3rs and despite his attempt to cut back, his patient list continues to grow because he always puts his patients first. I drive in traffic anywhere from 1.5hrs- 4 hours each way to see him and honestly, when I go, I expect to wait and I do so with a pleasant attitude knowing that I am going to see a doctor who will treat me with respect, not just throw some pills at me and never take the time to know "my" situation and treat me so that I get better. For those who complain about the wait, I say, "go find another doctor and stop bitching"so the rest of us patients will benefit! His care and diligence have saved my life (literally) more than once. I have tried to see other doctors for a cold when I couldnt get to doctor Galpin, and ended up with pneumonia and pluresy-- but when you have autoimmune, you soon realize these other doctors DO NOT get it and pills dont always fix the issues. I have no problems with the blood tests because when Dr. Galpin does his evaluation of your particular issue, he is looking at ALL the symptoms and how they impede your individual condition-- something MOST doctors just do not do. I get so frustrated at the RUDENESS of new patients who come in and act as if the world revolves around them-- if they only understood the ingredible gift Dr. Galpin has...not only his tremendous education but his kindness & selflessness.

I have been seeing Dr. Galpin for 20 years. The only continuing non-issue is the wait. He is an infectious disease specialist so if you need a GP go elsewhere. If you have issues and need a Dr. House then you'll understand why the wait is a non-issue. He's properly managed my HIV and Hep C for decades and now I'm Hep C free. He never throws me out of the exam room until every one of my concerns are addressed and that's why he runs behind. I expect the patient after me knows this just as I understand the same about the patient before me. About these reviews of him falling asleep, NEVER seen it. Lies if you ask me. I see him every 2-3 months and weekly when I have an active problem and it's never happened. Finally I don't know enough about all the labs he orders to speak about the necessity. I am not a doctor. I had over 20 vials of blood taken when I last had a nasty infection and what I know is I'm better now and good that he takes/learns more than less. That's why I have insurance.

Worst experience I've ever had in a medical office. I waited over 3.5 hours past my appointment time for a physical. Waited so long that the X-ray techs and lab techs all went to lunch. So, I had to come back a separate time to get my bloodwork/x-rays done. Then he insisted I come back for a follow up to discuss results, when every other Doctor just calls you. It's a 100% covered service and I get a bill from him for over $300. I call to fix it and get sent back and forth between billing (off-site) and his office. Then they tell me it's a coding issue and the Doctor does his own coding. So, I ask to speak with him and he refuses. I finally call my insurance carrier who was able to resolve the problem. Then Dr. Galpin's office calls me and says they fixed the billing issue but that I am no longer weclome as a patient. Quality!

To the people who said he fell asleep, he found out that he had sleep apenea and had that fixed. I told him about the reviews falling asleep and that's when he told me. He's doing a good job on me. I went to a dermatoligist and he was telling me it was something that it was not. As soon as Dr Galpin saw me he knew what was wrong ans sterted fixing the problem. This Dr knows what hes doing so if you need help , he's the man.

Dr. Galphin absolutely saved my sister's life. We've been seeing him for ten years after the doctors in our state told us that she should just eat right and exercise as there was no hope that she would live more than a couple of years. Dr. Galphin assured us that he would find an answer AND he did! She is alive and very healthy today...even became a nurse. To those of you who have negative reviews, perhaps you're just one of those people no one can please.

this is an AWFUL crook doctor! do NOT GO TO DR.GALPIN unless you want to be scammed out of hundreds of dollars. first of all like the reviewer noted below, he falls asleep during examination. Im not sure if this is related to his health ailment, but maybe this is not the right profession if that is the case? Not only is it unprofessional how can you fully assess your patient and his/her condition if you are constantly falling asleep? Second, he performs unnecessary lab tests EACH AND EVERYTIME u see him! even if you are perfectly fine (as the other reviewer noted as well) why does he do the SAME tests for everyone? its ridiculous. i thought it was just me but it appears this is common practice for him. He also owns the lab which does the tests (labcorp) which means more money in his pocket. He is a dishonest money hungry doctor who is looking to scam patients. DO NOT GO TO GALPIN! he does not stay awake during consults & he uses lab tests to scam u!

Dr. Galpin would be a better doctor if he stayed awake during exams. He always has to do lab even if your doing good. My friend and I both go to Dr. Galpin for different reasons and we compare notes, he orders the same test for both of us. I think it may be because of the extra insurance money he collects. He collects the portion your that your insurance doesn't cover before he even submits the claim which is ILLEGAL. I have been demanded to pay money or not be seen by the doctor through Robin his biller, she will talk to you like your trash, she demands payment immediately and will tell you in front of everyone. I have had money owed to me (for overpayment) by the doctors office and have to wait until I get my E.O.B.'s and then call the office and request a refund.
