Been dealing with pain for well over a year. He admittedly knew I was in a LOT pain but would not provide any additional treatment (like a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory injection) to alleviate it till we got the diagnostics back. It's like he doesn't even want to deal with treating me and I have been very patient and never mean or nasty. I have been through 2 rounds of PT and injections. My pain is miserable and I asked what else could do to alleviate the pain. He literally shrugged his shoulders!? I have NEVER in my life had a doctor do this and each visit he reiterates he's a surgeon 3-4 times. He could have at least referred me to someone else who may be able to help me. It's so frustrating when someone who has taken the Hippocratic Oath (or Oath of Maimonides) to care for people and shows such an arrogant and uncaring manner. :(

Scheduled for reverse shoulder replacement. In the OR for replacement started having heart issues , surgery was canceled. My phrenic nerve was anesthetized and I couldn’t take a deep breath. After 3 days I was finally able to walk without gasping for breath. I went through all the tests to reschedule surgery. Everything checked out fine. I left 3 messages to Dr Otte’s office without any response. Finally after 6 weeks I got a call to reimburse me for my robotic surgery prosthesis First communication with them since my surgery. I had earlier had knee replay with Coastal Orthopedic with good result. Would not recommend Dr Otte

I would NEVER recommend the newest addition to Coastal Orthopedic Dr. Otte for doing any surgery! He did surgery on my left bicep which was shredded. I complained for months after the surgery about the excessive pain from my shoulder down my arm and he expressed that I should not be in so much pain. He did not even investigate why I was in so much pain. I requested several times to get an MRI of my shoulder and down my arm to the elbow to see what was causing me so much pain. He said it was not necessary at the time. He would always compare my recovery to other patients and how they were healing much better in only weeks.
I think the ultimate insult was his ego!! He told me “He high fived himself he did such a great job!!” Or the other comment was “It was textbook the way he repaired it!” After 7 months of putting up with Dr. Otte’s arrogance I asked my primary care doctor what could be done, and he ordered an MRI. The MRI showed a torn rotator cuff and bicep and I needed more surgery. I would NEVER have Dr. Otte touch my arm again and went to a very well-respected doctor and found out with another MRI of the area Dr. Otte worked on is also torn 80%. I have been out of work for 8 months which should not have taken that long and now I will be out many more months.
