I've been seeing Dr Pai for over a year now after my previous pysch retired. I was originally sent to him to confirm my ADD diagnosis as I'm also BPD. He wrote me a script for Ritalin and sent me on my way.
My previous therapist put me on a drug that was working. When he retired I was sent over to Dr Pai to continue my therapy who promptly removed me from the medication that was working, up the meds I was currently on and tossed me out.
Every session is getting shorter and shorter. Today's clocked in a 4min. In that 4 min, I told him that I'm suffering severe memory loss, headaches, depression and out of character behavior. I was told to keep my medication as it is. And see him in a few months. The last 3 sessions I have voiced concerns over "lost time" with once being told... Your having micro seizures.... How did that answer come about with no testing? I had to make an appointment with my gp to investigate further.
I am so frustrated as someone who has a 20 year history with mental illness and seeing a therapist weekly the lack of care Dr Pai has shown is disgraceful.
I am looking for another psychiatrist.

Worst Doctor ever, kept talking about himself then when it was my turn to talk he stared at his Computer, then dismissed I have ADHD without knowing my history, even so I was sent to him by my psychologist who said there is a good chance I do, 1 star is too much.

Thank you, doctor; indeed it is frustrating to read the rating reports. My experience has been different and I am concerned that caring and deciding how much time you need to spend on a patient depends on the information you need to make a clinical decision. Having reviewed by other specialists in mental health and medical area, it is gratifying to get a knowledgeable expert. You made a significant difference to the way I behave now and what it means to my family

asked basic questions then went on to say “I can tell you that you don’t have ADHD or Bipolar II” (I have previously been diagnosed with Bipolar II) because I haven’t gone out and bought a $75,000 car and have performed well academically throughout my life and so because I’m high functioning and don’t make massive financial splurges I can’t have either of these diagnoses.
He implied that I was looking too much into the screenings/questionnaires relating to mental health and that I just have issues I need to “sort out”. He sent me home with a prescription of mindfulness and “distress tolerance skills” on the back of his business card.

I'd give him 0 stars if I could. His lack of empathy and understanding was extreme. He asked very generic questions then proceeded to UNDIAGNOSE me with mental illnesses I had already spoken extensively with my GP, psychologist and a different psychiatrist. He spoke about himself for half the appointment and decided it was within his position to say I am thinking about myself too much as I didn't realise he had a left arm deficit because of how emotionally overwhelmed I was in how he was speaking to me. What a waste of time and money. Felt worse coming out than I did going in
