A condescending and bad communicator. Was patronising and dismissive of my questions and it seemed like she couldn't wait to get me out the door again. Do not recommend.

Rude, no compassion and treat people like a total and utter inconvenience to her day. 1 appointment with this doctor left me traumatised, even had to be comforted by a nurse who was shocked at her behaviour. Definitely stay away. And Dr whitehead if you read these please find a new profession where you don’t deal with families going through the toughest time of there lives.

Dr Whitehead was the Dr we ended up seeing through The Fertility Centre. She seemed nice but reserved. It was out first round of IVF and we did get pregnant but sadly went through our 2nd missed miscarriage. As this was during the height of the pandemic last year all that was offered was phone appointments. After doing ALOT of research on recurrent miscarriage, treatments and tests I rang and spoke to Dr Whitehead. The phone call was under 3 minutes and she was very abrupt and straight to the point but order some tests for me to have done. I got those done and didn't hear anything back, so I rang the clinic and the booked in another phone appoinemt with Dr Whitehead to discuss the results. I was left feeling
very disappointed and not listened to. Again the phone call I had was less than 3 minutes and she was quite dismissive when I tried to ask questions in relation to information I had researched. Due to a recent diagnosis of Adenomyosis and the information I have received, from my Gynaecological team after recent surgery, there is proven success results from doing a long-term GnRH agonist pre-treatment leading into the next IVF cycle along with a Frozen transfer. There are proven results that those who have gone through recurrent miscarriages have benefited from this treatment and have had a successful live birth. When I tried to mention this to Dr Whitehead she immediately shut me down and said "No it won't work, we just need to tweek the medication and get more eggs". I was quite taken back because whilst we didn't get a huge amount of eggs, due to a lower medicated dose so I wouldn't develop OHSS, it only takes one and we had that one good embryo that was transferred and took. The problem is I can't hold a pregnancy which makes me wonder how retrieving more eggs is going to stop another miscarriage. My most recent miscarriage was a very traumatic experience and I'm wanting to do everything I can to try and prevent it from happening again. As I mentioned before I felt very let down after all this research I had done because I was actually really positive that this is an avenue that could have been taken.

Since then my Husband and I decided to seek a second opinion with someone who specialises in the conditions I have (PCOS, Endo & Adeno) and who deals with recurrent miscarriages. We are very happy with our new specialist, although it is a full paying clinic, and they have spoken of their concern to the approach of Dr Whitehead. They also don't understand why more eggs weren't collected, seeing I have PCOS, I should have had more than 5. Overall I wouldn't recommend Dr Whitehead for IVF treatment.

We went to Julie at the beginning of our journey, wanting advice about conceiving. My partner doesn’t ejaculate from sex, so we are having trouble conceiving naturally. I’m overweight, and before taking any information from us, Julie told me that I had to lose 20kgs before coming back. She then sent us away for tests. We never went back.

I did not have a great experience with Julie. I felt like she was not thorough and up to date with latest medicines available and the risks of medicines prescribed by her. There was some big oversights by her in my opinion which lead to me changing doctors. I never really felt comfortable with her and left consultations with little confidence. Her receptionist can also be quite curt which does not add to experience.

Not impressed at all with this Dr's general knowledge regarding the mini pill. Not only did she use a medical book of medicines in front of us to pick the pill she prescribed( concerning to me ) she ended up prescribing a discontinued product of around 2 years now in Australia! What!!! how can she not be up to date with the latest in medicine???? Not only did she waste my time, petrol, toll, parking fee and a big consultation fee, we left feeling not confident at all with the outcome of the consultation and the prescription she wrote confirms it!! I now need to do it all over again with another Gyno due to her lack of knowledge or care!!!!

Julie helped us conceive our beautiful little boy 2 years ago, and now manages my PCOS. I have always found her to be friendly and kind. Her approach is quite blunt, I'll admit, but I quite like that about her. Infertility is very ambiguous and you hear so many different opinions from different people, so I liked having a pragmatic and 'no fuss' doctor during this process.

I went in to see Julie for a colposcopy and fsh test. She has been very unhelpful in that my results have been sitting with her for days and she is unavailable to make a simple phone call to inform me of them. Waiting to start IVF, and as you know every moment within a cycle is crucial and must be treated in a timely manner. She suggested my going on clomid to stimulate ovulation.... hence the fsh test which is done on day 2 of your cycle, so that clomid can be started asap. It is day 7 of my cycle and I have not heard from her. When I call at reception, I'm told that she will call me the next day, which never happens. I've had all my results sent across to another specialist. Will never deal with her again, and don't recommend her. She's cold and lacks empathy & compassion. Not what you want out of a gyno/obstetrics specialist.

Julie helped me and my husband have a beautiful daughter. She was straight to the point and didn't sugar coat things. We fell pregnant with both attempts but unfortunately had a miscarriage with our first pregnancy. I called Julie very late that night with my concerns and she Organised for me to come in first thing that morning. She showed compassion when things got tough. We are very grateful that we have the opportunity to be parents and we can't thank her enough for her expertise.
