At the beginning of August2013,I scheduled a consultation on 9-11-2013 with Dr.Martin Berger to discuss my dad's care. The appointment was confirmed the night before (@5pm).I live 1hr away; @ 2/3 into the drive,I called the office to say I was running @ 5min late. Only then was I told that Dr. Berger was going home after seeing his current patient. It should be noted I heard the Dr. in the background telling the receptionist to tell me he was going home(sick). As I only had @20min more to drive, I completed my drive and requested some medical records. After waiting approximately one hour, very reluctantly I was given some medical records. It should be noted that this was to be a consultation for which I was willing to pay their required $170.00 out of pocket fee. There was no explanation as to why I wasn't notified of the cancellation. As I tried to reschedule at the front desk, I was informed that the police(!)would be called if I didn't leave! This is a nursing home M.D. What a nightmare!
