A nasty little man. I did not appreciate his diagnosis of a mental disorder, when I have been in pain for years. He did not even look at MRI scan results that clearly show damage to my spine. A total waste of time and money. Do not go to this person. I am not a looney toon as this so called doctor thinks. I pity all his future patients.

Having been a nurse for many years and working in the health system in both adult mental health and ER I was shocked at finding myself on the receiving of this doctors care. He was not empathetic and was very rigid in this thinking and very dismissive. I seriously suspect him of having strong narcissistic traits. In the face of someone's anxiety due to serious health concerns the best doctors are those that can manage their professionalism alongside their humanity. To this degree Stuart Mossman is incapable of achieving this. A most unpleasant experience and not one I wish to ever repeat.

Unfortunately my darling sister passed away unexpectedly while under the care of this doctor. Her passing was considered an unforeseeable tragedy and I have had to accept that this is so in order to heal. However, while I never had the opportunity to meet him personally, I am told by family members that the way that he dealt with my sister while she was still with us was arrogant and disrespectful - issues that we raised following her passing. It concerns me to see that many years later the reviews of this professional have not changed.

My husband was a patient on Ward 5 North PodA for five weeks and three days from 17 July 2014 suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. My husband Ray had only days left to live when this 'Doctor' turned up one afternoon to assess him for a possible spinal infection. This 'Doctors' behaviour towards my husband was nothing more than an object in a bed rather than a decent man clinging to life! I pity any patient who has the misfortune to have you as their 'Doctor'.

An unpleasant dr who based his diagnosis on what his registar told him then spent the short time with me proving to himself he was right.

Dr Mossoman is the rudest and most arrogant Dr I have had the misfortune to come across..EVER. He did his best to make me feel stupid, neurotic and even more despondent about the weird neurological issues I have been having and of which he had no interest in. His bedside manner is appalling, he is dismissive of symptoms and he just doesn't seem to care about getting to the bottom of a diagnosis. The worst part is he obviously doesn't realise that non diagnosis can actually CAUSE anxiety...rather than anxiety being the problem. Not knowing what is wrong is the worst part made worse by having a Dr who doesn't give a damn!

Dr Mossman is the worst doctor I have ever visited. He was about 40 minutes late for the appointment, once he did arrive he told me he was double booked and made it very clear he would rather be at his other appointment. After a very hurried (no more than 5 minutes) examination, where he only checked my reflexes and my pupils, he told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that the pain I experienced was 'just in my head'. Five months later scans revealed that there was a massive infection. Due to Dr Mossman's negligence this was left untreated for a very long time and as a result the repercussions are a lot more serious. I would strongly discourage anyone from seeing Dr Mossman.

I saw Dr. Mossman for a brain injury after an accident. I had to wait months to see him and was advised that he was a busy man, to be on time. He kept me waiting for over 45 min. while he talked to a computer repair man. He snapped at me when I came into his office. I was cowed by his attitude because of my injury. During the neurological exam, while I was performing physical tasks, he didn't watch & stood looking out the window. He then forced me to do a task that I couldn't, over and over very fast. I was in tears, because I hadn't known I couldn't do that. He declared after I accidentally did it once, "You can do it!" as if I were pretending. I had hope for some real help, but I left his office demoralized, exhausted, deeply upset. He paid attention to his computer during appointment, & went back to it when I left. No useful results. Much later during Advocacy meeting he said he had not understood. If he had listened he would have. Prejudgment was unprofessional. First, do no harm.

Dr Mossman seems to be regarded as the best neurologist in Wellington. I would have to say that from my experience of the others that this accolade counts for very little (look at the reviews of other Wellington neurologist to see what I mean). He was very(!!) late for our appointment. He had a registrar (or medical student) with him, so the majority of the short time he was with me he talked about me in the third person. I understand that he was trying to teach, but that is not the way to deal with patients. As I said, Dr Mossman is highly regarded in Wellington, and my experience with him was very limited, therefore I have given him the benefit of the doubt in the knowledge category, giving him a 3. Helpfulness-wise. He did nothing of any note to help me, not even a kind word. Punctuality. Nope. Staff. OK.

Saw him as an outpatient. He was training another doctor who was left to do all the tests. The trainee doctor did the standard suite of neurological tests and found that I had trouble with two of these. Dr Mossman ignored these findings and was generally dismissive of my worries. His final comment to me was "I don't know what's wrong with you. We can't do anything for you. It may not get better.". So I came away feeling very worried, that I would be stuck with these problems forever (which now, 3 years later, seems to be true!). He sent my GP a note saying that "he put my mind at rest"! A real class act all the way.
