She is the most kind, knowledgeable and open minded doctor, I have seen in Stanford. She was a part of a stellar team of female Breast Cancer Physicians and a fellow of a great visionary of Medical Oncology Dr. Ford. You will fall in love with the dynamics they all had at Stanford School of Medicine department of Oncology, hard to reach that bar. Hoping Dr. VInayak is treating her patients in that form of excellence in training that she received from Stanford Medicine.

She is initially polite but as things unfold she sometimes won't return emails or phone calls. she is prone to shooting from the hip about test procedures and plans. She jumps to conclusions and doesn't seem to understand how stressful it can be for the patient ( I need a lung biopsy why? oh, never mind, you don't need one after all) I think it stems from not very much experience, she's a relatively young doctor who thinks she is more savvy than she is. Her nurses are also cold and unhelpful, almost as if you are an imposition when you ask them for something. You also won't deal with the same nurse twice on one topic and they won't make much of an effort to know your name and who you are. In addition, the bureaucracy of Stanford in general and their remodeling at the moment creates a very stressful environment when you visit. Unless you have a very rare type of cancer or are involved in a clinical trial, my advice is to avoid Stanford in general and Dr. Vinayak in particular.
