This ER physician came into my room and told me in no uncertain terms that I am being deceitful about my pain. I asked her again to repeat that so that I could be sure I was hearing her correctly and she repeated this statement. I have a witness that heard her tell me this. In my opinion, this is medically unethical for a Doctor to not take the patient's subjective perceived pain as the truth. I have a diagnosis of multiple gastric peptic ulcers and have been hospitalized numerous times over the past 12 months, this Doctor did not do a CAT scan to see if there was any bleeding, ruptures, etc. I feel discriminated against and very offended to be treated with such apathy from a medical professional. I would like to add to the fact that I never asked for any narcotics while in the hospital or upon my discharge.
