I have been seeing Dr. Rae since March of 2021 due to a rare medical condition called Post Finasteride Sydrome. There are currently not many Doctors who recognize this serious and dibilitating syndrome which is devastating for those who suffer from it. Dr. Rae came across the disease previously in her practice and instead of dismissing it, took the time to learn about the complex nature of the disease. She is one of only 3 Doctors in Canada that are listed on the PFS Foundation website. It was through the Foundation that I reached out to her and even though her practice was mostly full she was willing to take me on and help me in any way she could. In addition to being a G.P. she is also trained as a psychotherapist and helps people cope with rare illnesses. Dr. Rae is a rare breed in the field of medicine. In addition to our regular sessions which have been tremendously helpful she has also taken hours out of her personal time to learn more about my condition, come up with ideas and provide additional counciling over the phone. Although there is no cure or proven treatment for my condition which makes me a difficult patient, Dr. Rae has provided me with amazing support and has done her absolute best to think outside the box. She has also referred me to some excellent specialists through her contacts in the industry and counciled them on my condition which has made the ability to work with these other doctors much easier. Dr. Rae is simply an amazing person and clinician. My only regret is not having met her earlier in life.

I went to see the doctor for an unrelated reason, in a general clinic. By coincidence I met Dr. Rae, who reckognized that I needed some help and very generously took me in for regular appointments. Completely changed my life, and it scares me to think what would have come of me had I not took me in that day. I most certainly wouldn't have graduated, and more importantly I wouldn't have been aware or been able to work through the problems facing me. She gave me the time, guidance, and treatment that I needed. She was patient and understanding. She didn't give up on me even though I gave her plenty of reasons to. Rare doctor, rare human being.

Dr. Rae is an inspiring, kind-hearted, helpful, empathetic and knowledgeable doctor. I am so grateful to be able to be her patient for several years now. It's hard to think of all the kind things to write about her. Simply, if there were more doctors (and people in general) like her, then the world would be a much better place. Thank you, Dr. Rae!

After some negative experiences with other health care professionals, I knew I had to hold on to Dr. Rae after meeting her at Queen's Student Health 11 years ago. At our first appointment, I noticed her keen and genuine interest in both my mental and physical health, and her interest, more generally, in me as an individual. Her attitude was relaxed, but professional, as she took considerable time to help me navigate my own ongoing health issues and the health care system at large. Dr. Rae's involvement and dedication ensured that my poor health did not impede my ability to obtain necessary accommodations, complete courses, and ultimately graduate with high aspirations for the future. While recovery took hard work on my end, I accredit much of the good health I now enjoy to her. I have continued to see Dr. Rae on a regular basis because I know that she is totally irreplaceable. Without her, I simply wouldn't be where I am now.

Dr Rae was the best doctor I've ever had. She actually listened to what I was experiencing and helped to narrow down a diagnosis. I also saw her for therapy and still miss those sessions after years of living away.

Dr. Rae is an amazing therapist and by far the best I've had. I have been going to her for over 5 years now and she's always there. Since moving offices her punctuality has improved incredibly and always makes me feel warm and welcome. Having her therapy dog, Beans makes things even more comfortable. She always listens closely and offers great advice. She goes above and beyond to help, even if there is an issue that doesn't involve mental health. She's the first therapist I've gone to where I feel like I can actually open up and won't be judged for what I tell her. She can relate easily to what I'm going through based on her past experiences. I truly feel safe in her presence and consider her a friend.

I wish I could apply negative stars. She is incredibly unprofessional and always late. I once heard her speaking ill of one of her patients to the girls at the coffee shop next door, which has really not done anything for my trust issues. It took quite some time to open up to my next doctor, for fear of being laughed at - as I'd heard Dr. Rae do - behind my back. I definitely agree with the other former patient who rated her with one star and said that she cares about her reputation. I would rather go without a doctor than ever see Dr Rae again.

Dr. Rae was such an inspiration to be during my times at Queens University. She truly cared and went above and beyond what a typical doctor or physiatrist provides. Im sad that I no longer live in Kingston because she was truly such an amazing doctor. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I have known Dr. Rae for over four years and have experienced the most productive partnership that has not only empowered me within an otherwise daunting medical system, but also has given me the tools to ensure my continued well being. She understands that her role as a doctor is to help by coaching her patients. This doctor does not fit the stereotypical 3 Bs – Brash, Boorish, and Bullying. She is kind, a good listener and models her practice based on the best doctors who place emphasis on the 3 Cs – Caring, Communicative, and Creative. When I was faced with debilitating and unexpected illness, her fearlessness at finding solutions combined with her professional creativity were pivotal in my rehabilitation. I am forever grateful to have known this astounding caregiver that will go the extra mile for her patients. Other doctors should take a few lessons from this consummate professional.
