My husband was gone 4 months after a diagnoses of multiple myeloma...... treatment didn't start until 3 weeks after diagnosis and my husband was in acute pain during this time. When I asked why the delay in treatment, Dr. Kanate said, "I was on vacation".......my husband is now gone.......

My sister has stage 2 lymphoma. She has abdominal pain and back pain. She has night sweats and has nausea. This doctor told her the pain was probably just menstrual and he doesn't want her to have any treatment at this time. No chemo and no radiation unless it spreads. He was dismissive of her complaints of pain and of the fact that she wants to get chemo done while she is still healthy. He also told her that chemotherapy is not done with lymphoma. He told her her labs were within normal limits, that her scans normal. We have access to the web site to see labs and scans. Her labs are not in normal limits and you can see masses all over her abdomen. This doctor never saw my sister, never assessed her personally. He sent interns. The first time she saw him was when he came the morning to tell her they weren't going to treat her cancer until it spread. Stage 2 cancer, no treatment...If this was your child, would you want this outcome?
