I needed 2 replacement cervical discs. Surgeonratings.org had Dr. Gordon as a 5 star surgeon with the lowest complication rate in the country based on surgical data. Health grades had 150+ 5 star ratings. My surgery went great. I have never been treated better. I traveled from NY to TX worth every penny. He has done 100"s of disc replacements. The best in the US.

Post microdiscectomy and I I'm not thrilled with the after care!
All was good and well going into this bit the after care concerns have fallen on deaf ears!
I have been ignored after making calls with valid concerns about the healing process and the pain that goes with it,this is Wednesday and still haven't received any call back from Monday.
It's interesting on how I'm supposed to manage this without what's seems not much care post surgery!
My 3 week post op check up I was in horrible pain but told to take Aleve. ....No real reason of explanation for why I'm in so much pain and sent me on my way with the suggestion of taking a naproxen tablet.
Post operative concerns aren't addressed as well as they should be,not to mention no return calls!

Very caring, very knowledgable, great surgeon. Before my surgery he prayed with me and my family. During surgery they would call and keep my family updated on everything he was doing and what he found. He was in no hurry to send me home after my surgery. He wanted to make sure that my pain was managed and that someone was going to help me once I got home. Staff very caring.

Biography

Dr. Gordon was introduced to the medical profession by his father, and would often accompany him on rounds and in surgery from a young age. A cancer survivor himself, he has developed a deep empathy for his patients, having joined their ranks. He strives to treat all patients as family. Perhaps this is why celebrities and heads of state make their way to Tyler, Texas to seek his care. In choosing the name "Precision Spine Care," Dr. Gordon hoped to convey that every patient is treated uniquely. Since every person is different, Dr. Gordon believes that, targeted, tailored and minimally invasive options are generally superior to the one size fits all approach offered by most single specialty practices. After attending the Baylor College of Medicine and completing his residency at the General Surgery Medical College of Virginia in 1988, Dr. Gordon embarked on a career that was keen on putting the patient first and foremost above the particular medical issue they brought with them. Dr. Gordon is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon known as a leading advocate in research for the spine. He is an expert in the implementation of the latest in laser technique and stem cell (from the patient’s own body), as well as other biologic advances. He’s also on the front line of utilizing early genetic detection of potential spine and neurological problems. Dr. Gordon is the founder of the Texas Spine & Joint Hospital, a highly respected hospital with a growing national reputation.
