Not sure I've ever met a more rude, dismissive doctor. She spoke to me like I was an idiot and didn't listen to anything I said. Extremely unhelpful.

This is the worst doctor i have ever had.She recommended i have a partial hysterectomy and put in a trans vaginal mesh.I had it prolapsed in less then a wk, she had to repair it but insisted on putting in a new one. I then had complication after complication,so she didn't want to deal with my issues so she left me with another prolapsed mesh and now i have a vagino pereneal fistula. I also have Sjogrens Syndrome, now i'm losing my teeth and my eyesight all because of
the horrible DR. Russell no one will help. One Dr has said that i will need 30 surgerys. Thank you for slowly killing me Dr.Russell i hope your
happy.

I've been with this office since my last pregnancy, in 2011. I saw all the Dr's and staff, during check ups. While a different Dr delivered my baby, Dr Russel performed my tubal-ligation the following day. I've since seen her as my regular gynocologist. I deal with possible connective tissues disease, fibro and a few other chronic issues. When I had a particularly rough set of years in 2013-2014 with a plethura of symtoms that patterned around my cycle, Dr Russell was awesome about working with me and found a solution that has made life more maneagable for me. I've since seen her for additional procedures and will continue my annuals with her. I'm very happy with this office, and the efforts they've gone too after my night, are experiences with the MMP Gyno/OB on Lake Lansing Rd.

I normally see another provider in the office. I called for an appointment because I found a lump in my breast. I'm a young woman but my grandmother had bilateral breast cancer very early in life. They scheduled me with Dr. Russell. She breezed in the room a bit late but that didn't bother me. However, her bedside manner is absolutely deplorable. She basically made it seem as though she thought I was foolish for even coming in and told me to stop drinking caffeine. I told her I only drink one cup of coffee per day and no soda. She did order an ultrasound but the whole visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be seeing her again.

Let me start by stating that I love everyone else on staff at Meridian Women's Health. However, I met Dr. Russell today for the first time and she left a horrible taste in my mouth. First, she seemed shocked when I extended my hand and introduced myself to her, waiting for the same. I shrugged that off as awkward. Then, she couldn't get my baby's heartbeat--everyone else has gotten it within seconds, no complications! I shrugged that off as a moving baby. But when she blew my questions off until I persisted I noticed. When she told me she hates the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia because "it makes people think they have a chronic illness and can't do things." I was pretty livid inside. She asked me what kind of doctor gave someone so young a diagnosis as crazy as that. I respectfully told her that a rehumatologist gave that to me at the age of 14 and it IS A CHRONIC ILLNESS. She also didn't explain anything about group b or take some of the usual measurements. I am very worried

Terrible bedside manor. Completely impersonal. Does not give you the time of day while you are at your appt. Doesn't ask if you have questions, so you better have them ready! Not that she will say anything more than "yup that's normal see you in 2 weeks". If this was my first pregnacy I would be an absolute wreck! I absolutely do not trust her to deliver my baby. If she doesn't care about me, how can I expect her to care about my child?

I've been with Dr Russells practice for years and yes at first, she was very impersonable, and borderline rude. She has come around now, and is pleasant to see and helpful. She does still kind of make you feel like you've sometimes not been taken seriously, but I stay because I ADORE Dr Gibbs, the other Dr at the practice.

I'm sad to see these negative comments, but maybe things have changed since I was last there. I was a patient of Dr. Russell's for several years before moving in 2007, & I have my first appointment again tomorrow after a 5.5 year lapse. I didn't deliver my child with her, but I did see her for several other issues, & she did my partial hysterectomy. I didn't know her when I walked in her door for the first time, and she was kind to me. I respected her as a doctor then, and I hope I will feel the same tomorrow after my appointment. She did a great job on my hysterectomy and made me feel secure and safe-and that hysterecomy, which other doctors said was unnecessary, changed my life for the better. She followed up with me afterward and I would give her an A+ rating on that experience. One thing she was slow on was when I had to have an ultrasound and she was late calling me in after holding my bladder forever. I couldn't hold it so I had the ultrasound on an empty bladder. Oh well.
