My experience with Margaret was like another mother noted. She was the one on call. We had met her before and out of all the midwives at this practice, she was the worst. We felt abused after being in her care. She took every opportunity to be nasty, condescending, and dismissive of me. I am also a nurse and I know she should have shown me compassion in my most vulnerable moments. Instead of feeling joy from the birth of my son, I felt traumatized by her words and actions. I really and truly hope she loses her license because I know she is not a nice person and treats mothers poorly when they need a caring provider the most.

Margaret Marsden was the midwife on call for my emergency delivery. My labor was progressing too quickly and I would up delivering at a hospital where I didn’t plan to and without my OBGYN practice. She knew her stuff and was able to get me through labor and delivery successful and for that, I am deeply thankful. However, I did not appreciate it like the ways I’m which she handled me and my entire memory of the day my daughter was born was in her verbal misfirings. First, when I asked for something for the pain, she told me I couldn’t have it because “my baby would die.” Then, she told me I couldn’t yell in pain because I was “scaring” the other patients, when I was tiring and having a hard tile pushing, she told me “you’d better get this baby out or it’s going to need to be resuscitated.” Maybe that’s midwifery practice and I just wasn’t prepared for it (again, I planned on delivering somewhere else), but literally everything that was in my birthing plan, she ignored and my daughters arrival was the opposite of what I wanted. Again, I recognize that midwifery is different than normal OBGYN care, and maybe this is how it’s supposed to be, but my husband and I were both pretty traumatized, and these are what we remember the most of our day.

She was one of my midwives when I was pregnant with my son. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was very caring and got to know you on a personal level. She made you feel safe. She's great.
