At 39 weeks I have decided to have a vaginal exam done on me to check for dilation. It was my first time to have it done. Never had one for my previous baby whomI delivered at 40 weeks. I asked the staff if it was necessary, told me it was recommended and that although they could not force me to put my pants down, it was totally up to me but it was "recommended". And so I have decided to give it a try after reading online that it was "not painful". Turns out I had the worst experience. When Dr Marillier did my cervix check, he did not even asked me to bear down first, he arrogantly put his fingers in roughly and in spite of me in obvious discomfort and pain, proceeded to what felt like a forever check on my cervix. On my chart he even noted that he was unable to do a membrane sweep, which we haven't even discussed prior if I wanted it or not. I felt like the appointment was rushed and the doctor was rough for the internal exam for sure. I'm not sure now if I would like it to be done again if it was just "recommended" but not "necessary". (Note: He was not my primary OB and was just covering for my OB for my weekly appointment)

Great doctor and person. He spent time going through all my concerns in my pregnancy and I can’t thank him enough for everything he did.

I had this doctor a few years ago as a fill in from my regular OBGYN who was on holidays. My first encounter with him was to check to ultrasound results that he requested (because he thought my baby wasn't breech anymore even though my regular doc said that the baby was). Turns out he forgot to even look at those results while I was in an exam room. Therefore while I was waiting in the nurses area (away from patients but could still be heard by them) he decides to give me those ultrasound results. Turns out baby was still breech but also had pelviectasis. I was unaware what that was and only got brief info as it seemed i was now being rushed. I thought this was rather rude and he should have brought me back to a room to explain the whole thing. My second encounter was after I had my baby via C-section (luckily he didn't perform that), he came to do rounds and decided to rip off the C-section bandages my doc had spent time perfecting and wanted me to keep them on for the day. My mother who was in the room was appalled in the manner he just ripped them off. Luckily that's the last time I had to see this "man"!

Terrible doctor and surgeon. Did my D&C after I had a miscarriage and I had to have it redone by another doctor. Refused to look up any of my test results because “he didn’t order them”. Told me my miscarriage was because I was old. (I am 34). I left in tears. By the way Dr. Marillier I am pregnant with a healthy baby girl. Who I am delivering at a different hospital to make sure you won’t be there.

Seriously one of the best OBGYNs ever. He is extremely caring and very knowledgable. Will 100% be going back for my next baby.

Dr. Marillier was my doctor for my second pregnancy and I was so happy to be referred to him. Even though he was very busy he always took the time to answer questions. He was very calm and very thorough at every appointment. So personable. I was actually sad that I wouldn’t have him as a doctor after delivering. Such a great experience. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Marillier was the doctor on call at the Grey Nuns when I recently delivered my second son. He initially came in to introduce himself and to break my water and check my cervix. I found him to be very polite and calming presence. He delivered my baby without any complications very quickly and was very supportive and complimentary afterwards. We chatted a bit while he and his resident stitched me up and both myself and my husband found him to be very friendly and personable. I also must note that I am much happier with my healing time and results this time around than with my first. Overall I would say that he is a great doctor. Thank you Dr. Marillier!

He has a wonderful bedside manner and was gentle during my exam. He inserted my IUD effortlessly after two unsuccessful attempts by other doctors. He was kind and attentive to my level of pain and anxiety throughout the procedure.

Reception staff is very difficult to deal with and do not consult the doctor before cancelling appts, etc. I also agree with other commenters that his cervix checks are very painful compared to ones I have had by other nurses/OBs.

I had a terrible interaction with this doctor at the hospital but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and booked a follow up at his clinic. What a mistake. It was even WORSE. He is all of the things mentioned in previous reviews. Rude. Dismissive. Arrogant. Rough with pelvic examinations to the point of causing pain and does not stop when asked. I don’t know why he is still allowed to practice with so many women having this exact same experience.
