Dr. Smith is incredible. She shows great compassion to patients of all ages. She puts tremendous effort into learning new therapies for the best care of her patients. She shows superior clinical skills in diagnosis of occular disease. My kids are avid readers thanks to her early identification of issues. I have been a patient for 14 years. Spryfield staff are excellent too!

We love Dr Smith! During a regular eye examination I mentioned that my son was a very reluctant reader and often got frustrated while learning. Turns out that he had convergence issues, which meant his eyes would turn in and he would see double when tired. As a result, we have been visiting regularly for vision therapy and the change in our son has been absolutely amazing!
We knew nothing about vision therapy so it was a leap of faith in Dr Smith. Our son is now so happier, more self confident & amazingly, a fluent reader with an above average comprehension for his age. It is no exaggeration to say that for us, VT has been life changing. We are so grateful for Dr Smith's enthusiasm, compassion and ingenuity.

Dr. Smith examined my school age children's eyes. She was thorough and brought out many items to assess things such as how their eyes worked together and tracked things, many of which I had never experienced before. She told me my child's learning disability could possibilty be caused by his eyes not working together very well, despite having 20/20 vision and told us said child would benefit from vision therapy. VT costs thousands of dollars and she'd have to assess child first if we were willing. My second child would need glasses for significant farsightedness and she continually put varied lenses in front of the eyes to get a response if things looked better. Dr. Smith was very nice and I'm certain very knowledgeable but we felt a little pushed. I investigated vision therapy for my first through my family physician and asked if my GP felt a referral to a pediatric opthamologist was would be helpful because I was worried about this new identified issue in my oldest child. GP got back to me and said following his research and reading my childs full pysch-ed assessment, most kids outgrow tracking issues but would refer me if I wanted. I declined, and also took my second (said to be very farsighted child) to another optometrist for a second opinion within the next 2 months. The next optometrist took the time to use dilation drops (which Dr. Smith did not use) and told me while he needed glasses for farsightedness, if was no where near the strong prescription Dr. Smith recommended. Again, I believe she is knowledgeable, maybe too knowledgeable and it felt like she was sort of looking for things to be wrong. I will let the reader of this review do the heir own research to determine if they feel Vision therapy is worth it, but I would be wary to say it helps fix learning disabilities. If you have a concern about your child's eyes beyond the usual, I would say you're better off requesting a referral to a specialist/opthamologist who will assess your child's eyes just assess thoroughly without the need to sell product.

Dr. Smith is an incredible eye doctor. She saw my daughter first at only six months old and has on an annual basis ever since. In the summer she discovered my daughter had a unique problem that required glasses for reading when she was 4 that would not normally be picked up by a typical eye exam. She took the time to give her drops and further investigate what it is not a typical problem for someone her ago. She has also been a tremendous resource for my brother who has extensive eye issues. I would wholeheartedly recommend her and her practice.

Dr Smith is by far the BEST health care practitioner I have EVER been to. Smart, compassionate and understanding - that's just touching the surface. She has gone above and beyond to help me in every way. No description can do her justice - the experience is necessary. From the staff at the front desk to her follow up care, the service, experience and care is exceptional.
