I have seen Dr. Woolfson from time to time over many years,se him when i was experiencing problems of different kinds. I called his office asking for an urgent appointment recently, over a crisis in my personal life which had made me quite frightened. Dr. Woolfson recognised the urgency and made a special effort to see me immediately. He was both kind and very clear and direct in addressing my problem. He tells you what his analysis is, not always something i want to hear, but something i need to hear. He kindly helped me to craft an approach to my issue which gave me a great sense of relief. He was very kind and concerned which helped me get through my problem. I highly value his great experience, but also his directness. I believe he is very quick to identify what the patient's problem is and to address it. He is interested in solving problems and letting the patient get on with their life.

Dr Woolfson was the first professional from whom I ever sought help for mental health issues. His practice was on Harley Street in London at the time. My experience with Dr Woolfson was so damaging that I didn't seek help for another ten years. Dr Woolfson quickly affirmed my fear that my problems were due to a moral failing on my part and showed no compassion for what I was experiencing. In one session, he fell asleep while I was talking. I sat in silence and watched him until the phone rang and he woke up. He did not acknowledge what had happened. There were other serious and damaging injuries that resulted from the brief time I spent with Dr Woolfson. Nearly twenty years later, I still regret having put myself at his mercy.

He has now retired from medical practice, and so I would seek another clinician or clinic if I were you

He is not able to help because he cannot remember the points from the previous appt so everything is repeated each time. He just wants £350+ for each appointment but mo solid medical support is prescribed- which I need for my condition on top of conversation a lot my issues. He promised medication which did not arrive- I wonder if he is no longer able to prescribe. He is the worst Dr for ment health medical conditions because he gives hope but does not deliver.

Do not waste your hard earned money- the reviews I find suggest this practionioner was great once but not now.

This Doctor should be avoided at all costs I met him twice and that was enough . The first thing he started talking about was the reviews he was receiving online , which took up 10 mins of my appointment . I found him to be self centred and did not think much of these two appointments . He fell asleep during the second one I am amazed that he is allowed to practice .

Dr Woolfson is a kind and compassionate Person. I do however feel that he should be retiring or perhaps manage his diary so that he doesn’t fall asleep during his appointments . I also feel that I had to repeat myself every session almost like he kept forgetting what my issues were. I did have an issue with my medication that he prescribed me luckily my gp was able to spot it early on and I had to come off the meds immediately as they were interested I g with one of my organs . He also wasn’t able to help me with my condition , but I did think he was a very genuine person and I’m afraid I don’t like to say this about him because I genuinely believe he has helped allot of people . If only I had met him 10-15 years ago I wonder if he could have done more for me .

I read some reviews about Gerald before I consulted him and decided to make my own mind up. For me he has been a lifesaver. I had been woefully misdiagnosed by my GP and others. I had received therapy, which I now realise was entirely unsuitable for my problem (I did wonder as it wasn't doing anything at the time ) I was also on entirely unsuitable medication. However, thanks to Gerald I am once again enjoying life and feeling entirely normal, the first time since September 2020. I sincerely wish that I had consulted him much, much earlier when my problem came to a head in October 2020. Gerald's approach is unconventional, if you want a suited individual (white or otherwise) that is not Gerald, he is informal and has a great sense of humour. He was also at the other end of the phone when I was desperate, unlike the many other therapists I saw and who would not respond to desperation. And my GP who I never saw...only spoke to from time to time when I was lucky enough to get an appointment, he was simply not interested and was out of his depth anyway. Gerald's experience is vast. He is eminent in his field and simply brilliant at what he does. He is remarkably perceptive and has genuine empathy. He also cares for his clients, and has compassion for them. His knowledge of psychotropic medication is truly encyclopaedic. I feel very privileged to be in his care.

I have seen Dr. Woolfson few years ago. Still remember only positively our sessions. Helped me hugely with panic attacks and anxiety. I came to his therapy when i was so low and did not know what to do anymore. He very quickly understood my issues, got prescribed medication, started to improve with therapy and medication very quickly. He gave me lots of advice and reassurance that i am not going crazy, and my situation will improve. I am in much better place now. Thank you so much.

This man is probably the worst mental health “professional” I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing, repeatedly fell asleep during consultation, could never remember why i was there resulting in me havjng to start from scratch each visit. spoke about himself more than we spoke about myself, even though I'm forking out a small fortune each time. Suggested i go to south africa to stay at a facility there, and to tell them that he recommended them, took numerous phone consultations with other patients during my face to face consultations.....(so much for confidentiality) and to top it off, asked me to leave a positive review to counteract someone else’s negative review. I would honestly just stick to the NHS if this is what £300 per consultation gets you. Worthless.

I came to Dr Woolfson three years ago when I was suffering under the cosh of severe mental illness, and I’ve been visiting him since. He not only possess a huge knowledge of the technical side of psychiatry, but huge depth of character, too, which has helped me just as much. I feel like can tell him anything. I recently lost my job, and he was good enough not to charge me for a consultation when I really needed it. He’s been there on the other end of the phone when I’ve needed urgent advice, too. Often answering on a Sunday evening. I’ll never forget it. Dr Woolfson will lift you up from whatever pit you’re in.
