Worst dentist I've ever been too, unethical and horrible personality. Incorrectly reported my treatment to the insurance company, overcharged me then refused to give me my dental records in a timely fashion. Her assistant agreed that her practice was awful but that her hands were tied and that I should complain about her to the authorities. I really hope she's gone out of business by now. A quick Google search and I found where the dental board found her guilty of various violations and ordered her to pay about $30,000 in fines. She really should have her license revoked.

In 2008 I visited M. Hahn's office on Monument Avenue. She was actually working the front desk. Her assistant ( a temp ) took me back for an x-ray and did not use any kind of lead shield. Next Madeline came in and started my evaluation. She was pressing the instrument into my gums very hard and my gums were bleeding. I told her it hurt and she said that was because I had severe gum disease. She said she wanted to put me to sleep and perform extensive perioscale. She said I had pockets between my teeth and gums *I am not sure how large. I was very upset. I went to another dentist for a second opinion. This dentist did an evaluation, determined I needed a cleaning, had a little plaque and that I was grinding my teeth. I actually returned to MH's office with the report from my new dentist. She said she stood by her diagnosis. I returned to her office with the bill she sent, to dispute it and another temp was there who said many patients were very unhappy with MH. So scary!

Please see the Virginia Board of Dentistry's Minutes from the Special Conference Committee "C" Meeting on Dec. 14, 2007. This lists many violations as well as the Board's decision: a reprimand, sanctions, and a monetary penalty of $29,500

My visit with Dr.Madeline Hahn was the simply the worst dental service I have ever experienced. She was rather unfriendly and abrupt with her answers to me.The staff was overall friendly , then became rude too when I needed to reschedule an appointment. The work I had done seemed to be negligence. I had one service done in which cause alot of swelling and caused my lips and lower face to be out of proportion. I am definetly not going to reccommend her to anyone.

I had a great experience with Dr.Hahn. The two crowns that she delivered to me were identical to the surrounding teeth. I couldn't tell the crown from my other teeth. She was friendly and very professional.

This is the absolute worst dentist I have ever been to. Procedures where extremely painful (never had a problem with other dentists) and she keeps sending me bills for things my insurance supposedly never payed. Also be prepared for her to try top sell you everything under the sun, from $30 mouthwash to $400 night guards. My sister also visited her. Her experience was even worse. Dr. Hahn botched a routine filling which resulted in my sister having to get a root canal done a few months later. AVOID THIS LADY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Dr. Hahn and her staff are wonderful. She explained everything to me and her staff presented a complete treatment plan. Before I left, I knew what needed to be done and what the cost was. The professionalism in the office is tremendous.

Dr. Hahn is the worst dentist I have EVER been to. She supposedly "miss charged" me and then had to charge me about $100 more six months after the date of my appointment (highly suspicious), she LOST the check from my insurance company and then sent ME to a credit agency, threatining to ruin my credit because of her mistake. She was not present for one office visit and did not bother to let me know beforehand. When she finally managed to "find" the payment from the insurance company (2.5 months later), after numourous calls from me AND my insurance company AND my providing her with COPIES OF THE PAYMENT RECORD, she finally agreed that she had gotten the check from the start. Then she made ME PAY a late payment fee. She is a terrible dentist (and person) in my opinion, and she was brought up on charges with the Virginia Board of Dentistry (you can google Madeline B. Hahn to read the report). Save yourself a lot of heartache and tears!!

I am a college student and I definetly paid out of the rear for the issues i recieved. granted i didn't have a beautiful mouth to begin with. the deep scaling that I had to have done was the most painful thing I have ever gone through. Dr. Hahn does not have kind hands as a dentist and that is key and vital to someone like me who just breaks down at the sight of a dentist chair. Hopefully i won't have to go through years of therapy. Her billing is aweful and she goes through assistants like napkins. Its crazy aweful and her "beside" manner is non-existant.

My problems with Dr. Hahn are finally over after almost 9 months of hell. I had to get a lawyer for her to stop harassing me with bills and give me a copy of my dental records. If you are having problems be pro-active and report her! The Better Business Bureau and the Board of Health know who she is. Definitely report any problems you are having to the Board of Health. Not every one of her patients has perio-disease! She said I did and I DO NOT!!! She shouldn't be putting all these people through this!!! I also reported her to the Office of Consumers; they were able to get her to cooperate a little. Request your medical records IN WRITING!! I sent them via certified mail so that I knew that she received them. In addition, explain in writing why the way she is billing you is incorrect and explain why. Fighting her is HELL and almost a full-time job, but she shouldn’t be practicing if she is inflicting this much pain and suffering, both physical and mental, on her patients!!!
