My teenage daughter & I started seeing Dr. Amavisca shortly after he arrived in our community. He is a wonderful physician and we are devastated that he is leaving. My daughter has asked me repeatedly that we be able to follow him to his next practice as she does not like change & is anxious and unwilling to go to a new doctor. She did not have this issue with him when our doctor retired and we switched to Dr. Amavisca's practice. We both saw Dr. Amavisca's predecessor since she was a toddler and is now almost an adult. We trust Dr. Amavisca and are now left wondering if we will be able to find a replacement that comes anywhere close to his professionalism and care. When my children were small, I worked with several physicians/surgeons in a hospital and later in a clinic. Dr. Amavisca is undoubtedly one of the most competent, friendly, caring and patient physicians I have ever known in both my professional and private life. It's pathetic and hateful for people to write awful things about a man they obviously weren't able to bully to their way of thinking or acting. And NBMC is letting go of an asset that they'll not soon be able to replace-if ever! D. Kinney

Dr. Amavisca, went above and beyond any Doctor I've ever had take care of my husband. He made room in his schedule for my husband on a Friday afternoon. Dr Amavisca called me Friday night to check on my husband three times on Saturday and three times on Sunday to check on my husband's progress. He is the BEST Doctor this town has ever had in all my 13 years living here. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Amavisca. North Bend Medical Center has finally find a compassionate Doctor to run the Myrtle Point office. His staff is excellent too.

Dr Amavisca can be very rude at times. Staff does not return even urgent calls. Dr also does not seem very knowledgeable about much of anything. I would not recommend him to care for my pet!
