In 2008 I went to Dr Goplen Regards to Back pain with pain going down both legs. Prior to this in 1994 I had major surgery on my lower back do to a work related accident. This surgery went very bad and a year later I had to be flown to Vancouver have it redone. I was told by this surgeon I would most likely have to have surgery again within ten years. The first surgeon made a six inch cut in my lower back, which left my back twisted for months. I 2008 My back was again giving me so much pain I could hardly walk. I was referred to Dr Goplen and after some test he agreed I needed the surgery and after the surgery was done I went home the following day able to walk great and able to live normally. I highly recommend Dr Goplen.

Dr. Goplen performed a L5 S1 Disectomy on me. I was in alot of pain and discomfort prior to surgery. He was extremely knowledgeable before and after surgery. Would highly recommend Dr Goplen as a Neurosurgeon. Thanks for everything Dr. Goolen.

Dr Goplen performed a discectomy on me in 2020.
I was suffering from debilitating pain which was interfering with my career and life in general.
This man is a genius and I owe him everything. I will never be able to repay him for giving me my life back. The people complaining about bedside manner or not being coddled enough by him obviously should go home as there pain is not there primary concern.
Dr Goplen explained to me what I needed to know and answered my questions fine. No hug and koombaya though.

Dr Goplen was very good. He was in favour of my wife having another spinal tap procedure as the previous one done was not properly monitored. He was there before the procedure and observed my wife before the procedure and talked to us. He was concerned about my wife's condition and was willing to have something done about it. Nice to see a caring doctor. He made up his own mind and did not just go along with the other two neurosurgeons who refused to do a shunt operation even though it would have saved my wife's life.
