Horrible doctor. Was told nothing was wrong with me to later find out I had a tear in my MCL. He didn’t do anything for me

I went into ER with a severely dislocated shoulder. Dr Van Vleet was direct, no-nonsense and got it sorted out quickly, with the appropriate pain killers to make a very painful situation manageable. Helpful in getting me the right follow up appointments as well.

Condescending and asked multiple inappropriate questions. Went in having a gallbladder attack and he said congratulations you also have a UTI like it was funny. Asked my level of education, if I was single or married and if I had a job. All of which had nothing to do with why I was there. Continued to speak to me as if I was an idiot. I was supposed to get an ultrasound as per my family dr’s request but was sent home with a prescription and a sheet stating they would call me for an ultrasound in 2-3 days, still no call and unable to read anyone.

Dr. Van Vleet was the Dr. in emergency. He was very caring and helpful who gave me my undivided attention concerning my problem....thank you Dr.

Really rude. Comes across as a person who’s really full of himself and acts as if he’s better than everyone else. Really arrogant.

Amazing Doctor. He has been a huge help with my recovery. I had been prescribed heavy amounts of pain killers for over 6 years after a serious accident. After trying to stop the medication cold turkey on my own I ended up foaming at the mouth on day 3 and almost didn't make it..Dr. Van Vleet got me in right away and stabilized me...its been 4 years off the medication now and I've come a long way but I didn't do it alone. Him and his team have given amazing support over the years. He's a straight shooter so if your honest with him he will be there to give you the help and support needed to see better days

I'd give Dr. Van Vleet 5's across the board but 'staff' isn't about him, and 'punctuality' is not his fault at all (although it really wasn't that long of a wait tonight even though he apologized about it). I've been fortunate to have had Dr. Mike Van Vleet working at Trail emerg on a number of occasions I've been there with family members. He's ALWAYS been a HUGE help and if there's something he's not familiar with he is upfront and honest about it. Thank you for everything you've done for us (even that time when my daughter came in after laying in a patch of stinging nettles that her 'unknowing' Mother asked her to lay in for a photo shoot. It was great when you looked at her and asked her "Would you jump off a bridge if your Mom asked you to?" LoL That day was many years ago but we still bring it up and laugh about it from time to time. Thanks again Dr. Mike. You are the greatest!

Thank you for recognizing that I needed to have emergency surgery the night I was brought into the ER! From what I was told, your quick decision and analysis of the situation likely saved my life. I will always feel grateful towards you!

I was playing soccer with my friends and had an incident with my arm. I went to emerg - it turns out I had a broken arm. Dr Van Vleet helped me get through it with the right amount of pain medicine and made sure I was comfortable. He told me about the break and made sure I understood everything. I would like to thank him for helping me get through the night.
