Beyond insensitive when delivering bad news in the ER. Distressing and traumatizing, with either no awareness of his approach, or no compassion.

Encountered this Dr. in emergency during a crisis with my loved one. The Dr. did do the appropriate testing and bloodwork to try to understand the situation. HOWEVER, when all results of bloodwork were in, and it was determined that my loved one was not going to be ok, I realized I needed to talk with my loved one about the situation. I knew how to approach and the words to use. Without talking with me, the Dr. came in and proceeded to tell my loved one they were dying. The distress my loved one immediately experienced from those words, from that approach, has left me traumatized. This Dr. was inappropriate and completely INSENSITIVE. Absolutely NO bedside manner. NO consideration for how the patient might receive such horrible news. NO consult with me. I am livid. I am horrified. And I suggest to anyone who may be unlucky enough to have this person as their emerg physician, to ask for someone else if at all possible.

Went to the ER with a real bad chest cold, asthma flare up and high fever. I wasn’t listened to and my symptoms were shrugged off as nothing, but sent me home on antibiotics which I was told later by another ER doc that they would have done nothing. Had a gut feeling and came back next day since symptoms were way worse, and got a great Dr that got me a chest X-ray… had double pneumonia, 104 fever, and O2 was low bc of asthma as well. She gave me 2 antibiotics, 1 steroid plus 2 inhalers. Was close to being admitted but thankfully didn’t need to be. Trust your gut!

worst experience of my life. I will never see him again. If I have to go to the emergency dept. again I will phone the hospital and find out who the Dr. is is ER and if he is there I will go to Victoria hospital. He was rude, stood with his arms crossed at the foot of the bed and said very few words. He seemed he was not interested or bored.

worst experience of my life, It seemed like he was in a hurry and did not care what kind of treatment I received. If I had a choice I would never go to him again. It seemed like he was bored and couldn't care less.

In late July 2019 Dr. Halvorson did a wonderful job shaving the bone and closing my 20yr old daughters thumb. She nipped 3/8" off it with an axe while camping with a friend. And he did it on a busy Saturday at Midnight. The plastic surgeon in Victoria commented on what a good job Dr, Halvorson had done. No further surgery was required, just cleaning and stitches removal. Today it is hard to notice. Thank-you Dr. Halvorson!

Rude rude and even more rude. Made a person who attempted suicide (myself) feel even worse. This man should not have a license, he's very insensitive and is going to push someone to take their life.

I saw Dr. Halvorson and an intern recently in emergency for a painful abscess. I found him to be extremely kind, respectful and very knowledgeable to both myself and the intern.

Total disaster. This guy is hostile, insensitive, impatient, and rude. I would not recommend him to anyone- actually, I'd only recommend that you stay as far away as possible.
