Had two procedures completed by Dr Bourget. Very pleased with results. The office followed up after each procedure to check on my health. Great facilities

Extremely unprofessional reception staff. First time patients may not realize that the way this clinic treats them is unacceptable, but from my experience I can say this is very poor treatment. The house staff is too unprofessional and disrespectful to be worth seeking a consultation with Dr. Bourget.

1. I emailed to ask about the cost of a consultation and price ranges for certain procedures and the receptionist who replied, Vikki, just asked which clinic I want to go to and didn't respond to the other questions. I told her Dartmouth clinic and asked her to answer my questions, and she never replied.

2. I called to ask the same questions and the Dartmouth receptionist was very rude and also wouldn't answer my question at first. I finally got that a consultation costs $115 and the fee doesn't count towards treatment. She would not give me a price estimate for the procedures I was interested in, and she kept saying, "How do you know that's what you need? You may not need that procedure, it may be something else". She also kept talking down to me in a condescending way like I'm an idiot, asking my age out of nowhere when I was asking for a price RANGE estimate, etc. Since I was seeking a consultation, I obviously know that what I need may change and the cost may change after having a consultation since that is the entire point of a consultation. However, it is not unreasonable to request a price estimate - other surgeons in Vancouver were always able to do so and the plastic surgeon in Halifax also gives price ranges without any issues.

Honestly if this is how you get treated before you even go in for an appointment, don't go to the clinic. How good the reception staff is DOES make a difference in treatment in the end and you will regret it if you use an unprofessional clinic for your treatment.

He was kind for my daughter's wisdom teeth extraction. However, when I needed him for complications, he wasn't around and had to keep calling his assistant, who would just brush me off and tell me to go to Doctor! Finally I took her in there for her to look at the infection. She says "Oh ya, it is infected" she contacts Bourget and tells my daughter to scrub the incision real hard with her toothbrush to make it bleed and get food out. So my daughter did this and it pained her very much. They also continued antibiotics for 20 days she was on antibiotics. I believe if he would have been around. Her pain and suffering would have been fixed long ago. Took her to another oral surgeon who removed the bone fragments that were causing her infection. It was not food like his assistant said. My daughter suffered with headaches, hot flashes, nausea, earache, sinus and puss coming out incision and swollen face. She had to write all her exams through this pain! I am so angry that she just kept getting passed off as if it weren't important! I hope this never happens to anyone else! Just plain wrong!

i cannot begin to describe how amazing dr. bourget is; he is an incredible surgeon. i have several anxiety disorders and the staff (RNs, himself, other staff, and the reception) are all very warm and friendly. dr. bourget is extremely empathetic and accommodating, especially in regards to the best suited and preferred sedation. he is also extremely knowledgable. i've had all of my wisdom teeth out by him, 2 at a time on separate occasions. the twilight sedation knocked me out completely both times. the first time was flawless, and i was mostly healed and ready to be out and about in under a week. this second time has been a lot harder in regards to pain, but him and his staff are exceptionally helpful with instructional aftercare. you are in safe hands with dr. bourget and his staff. if you have anxiety, don't worry, because he is an incredible surgeon, and you will be fine.

I only saw the Doctor for all of 50 seconds. I was very nervous about having my wisdom teeth out and was hoping he would spend more time explaining things. That being said his demeanor was great and he was very comforting in that brief time also it seems like he did a great job! No swelling and not much pain. Hes also only in newfoundland once in a while out of the goodness of his heart because we are lacking dental surgeons so i imagine he sees as many patients as possible and has to be minimul with small talk. His staff on the other hand were lacking. The receptionists were unhelpful and didn't smile once and the nurse in the room with me was cold and actually rather rude. Both myself and my husband were floored by how unsympathetic she was with me!

Dr. Bourget is a great Dr. After having, not so great, surgeries years ago by an ENT and many doubts about having more, it gives me great pleasure to write this review and to be able to say this surgeon is a great surgeon and person. He has been very kind to me and did a great job fixing a problem that has bothered me for many years. Thank you Dr. Bourget.

I has my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Bourget, I was very scared coming in as my friends told me horror stories from other surgeons they had seen. I have to say my experience was wow! From the reception in the front to the nurses in the back. Dr. bourget explaining everything to my parents. I felt so at ease he even held my hand when I was getting my IV ( witch was a piece of cake). I highly recommend Dr. Bourget. I had very little swelling or even discomfort post. The nurses called me the next day to make sure I was ok... Wow!

I had double jaw surgery and a chin reduction in 2008. He was always very pleasant and easy to talk to. After the surgery I still have chronic jaw joint pain, which I tried discussing with him. He asked if I would like a prescription painkiller rather than see if I have TMJ disorder. I never did go back for my last post-op.

Dr. Bourget and this clinic are amazing! My brother was sent to him for surgery and I was there right up until the last minute. He was friendly, humorous and did a great job. My brother was a bit frightened after years of problems with his teeth and dentists, but Dr. Bourget put him right at ease and even took care of a separate issue my brother had wanted done for years! I can't say enough good things about this man and the clinic on Acadia St. The nurse (Tracy) was amazing as well. From the receptionist who found my brother's lost earring, to the nurses, to the surgeon and the after care instructions, I was most impressed with all of them. Couldn't have asked for a better experience for my brother, and if I ever need surgical work, I'll be seeing Dr. Bourget!
