I have been very impressed with Shelley, she is professional and has always treated me as a important patient. She cares about her patients, listens to concerns and offers encouragement. I am a nurse myself and feel very lucky to of found a competent caring nurse.

I was diagnosed with melanoma 4 years ago. Since then I receive regular check-ups and have suspicious moles removed regularly. After moving to Tacoma, I went to Pace Dermatology to see Shelley Velickoff. My first red flag occurred when waiting in the office as a receptionist spent almost 10 minutes talking about how horribly she is treated there (to another receptionist) and couldn't wait to find another job. I attributed that to a personnel issue and kept an open mind. Shelley, however, incorrectly sterilized the area of my leg so that I got a horrible infection, after which all offices were closed so I had to pay out of pocket at an emergency care clinic. Additionally, I had follow-up questions about my care (which she invited me to do) and she snapped at me impatiently on the phone. Before my second appointment at this practice, I asked to be transferred to a different provider at the same office but the office manager said that they couldn't due to office policies. I explained my experience with Shelley and asked if an exception could be made at which she replied that I should schedule an appointment with Shelley to discuss my concerns. If she incorrectly sterilizes an area, then why should I trust her with any other important medical decisions. At this point, I'm left in a bind to find another doctor quickly because this practice puts office policies above patient care. If ever there was a terrible place to receive medical care, especially for cancer survivor whose chances of getting melanoma again are much higher, this is it. Please believe me when I say don't go to this practice. Your care will not be in good hands.
