I read several of the comments left for Dr. Agran and quite frankly, not sure what to make of the 2 stars. Dr. Agran is no bull, tell like it is. If you want sugar coated cookies and fluff blown up your rear, look elsewhere. There are plenty of doctors who will tell you what you want to hear, load you up with meds and or both. Dr. Agran is neither. She's honest and humorous. She sits there, answering questions and uses her experiences as a mother to sympathize with you. My daughter experienced constipation for several months and after seeing Dr. Agran and adhering to her advice, my daughter is regular now. Did she tell me what I should be doing to help her? You bet. Did she agree with everything I said? Nope. She told me what to do and why I should do it. And Lisa, her front office do-it-all manager, she's cool too. Listen, these two people are the real deal. They work alongside you, searching for answers to your child's problem. If you want a doctor who tells the truth, Dr. Agran is where you want to go.

Dr. Agran was the only doctor who could help my child with failure to thrive. She is conservative in her approach and truly cares about the children. She was straightforward and to the point. Not heartwarming and fluffy but I wanted a GREAT GI, not a friend. I highly recommend her.

The GI doctors at CHOC are not great. She is very good. It did take some time to warm up to her style. But once I did, she was amazing. She does want tests before she takes action, but she was the only GI to actually help my children. The other GI's at CHOC just did "band-aid" work and let my kids become Failure to Thrive because they didn't treat the underlying cause.

Dr. Agran has the worst bedside manners I have ever encountered. I wish that someone had warned me prior to my visit. She was arrogant, unhelpful and downright rude at times. Unfortunately there aren't many doctors in this specialty in our area so we didn't have much choice.
