Dr. Hoiness is an excellent psychiatrist. I was very depressed and he listened to me for half an hour or an hour on my consultation visit, knew exactly what medication to prescribe me and followed up with me closely. He never had any attitude and I didn't feel judged by him at all. He was also very good about debunking some myths that have become status quo in our society. The only constructive criticism I can raise is that initially he had me on the generic of Zoloft and my psychologist strongly suggested I take the brand name because she had seen in all of her patients that the generic didn't work nearly as well as the brand name. He insisted only about 5% of his patients have that reaction. Well I guess I was part of that 5%. I gave it 6 months, increasing the dose, following doctor's orders until I finally just forked out the extra dough for the brand name. Miraculously it has worked ever since! So I think it might be good for him to weigh the research with the anecdotal evidence.

Dr. Hoiness is amazing. He is very informative and has worked with me through my ups and downs. He doesn't give up and always explains his rationale. Overall he's just a great guy.

Dr. Hoiness is great. He's my first Psych. and I was worried about seeing a man. Well, I shouldn't have been. He is so easy to talk to and really tries to do everything in his power to help.

Wonderful, cheery,really listens, very helpful. My insurance placed a limit on presriptions and he had many helpful suggestions to help me find alternatives. I can't say enogh nice things about. All physcians should be like him

Best therapist I've ever had. He challenges me constantly; does not take any guff and knows my limits. He has helped me grow more than any previous doctor. I followed him from his previous practice in order to stay in therapy with him. I trust him completely. He's got a lot of integrity.

Wonderful and direct. Will work to figure things out and help you or at least direct you to where he thinks it would be more beneficial to you. Does not leave you hanging or feeling hopeless. Really listens and talks to you as if your a real person. Very very intelligent. Never been rude, always smiles at you.
