7 out of 10 patients can have their medication eliminated. As proved when she eliminated my Dilantin and phenobarb, I had grand mal seiners as well as inability to hold things steady without dropping them or breaking them. She, in my mind, should no longer hold the title Doctor. Torture specialist would be more suitable. I am one of those 3in ten whose medication should not have been reduced, let alone eliminated. She needs to go back to med school…a good one!

Saw Dr. Sweet in emerg in Kitchener. Although she listened and did the basic reflex tests, she was utterly useless. Kept saying, “I don’t know what happened to you but you didn’t have a stroke.” Had all the symptoms of a stroke. Even my gait was off and using a walker, could barely speak. She told me that my neck imaging (with a lot of problems) didn’t get her excited. Also said to just live life and positive thinking will help. WTH?! I’m the most positive, can-do person, so in my terrible speech, told her that but that doesn’t diagnose and prognose - you do, doctor. 2 week later video follow-up she still kept repeating she didn’t know. At my insistence, she ordered a MRI with contrast. Well, 5 months later and multiple staff errors, I am told it’s been cancelled for no reason. And that I should re-book with Dr. Sweet again. Please folks, if you can - go see a doctor who cares, has knowledge and wants to do their job and has office staff who doesn’t mess up.

Husband saw her for a year, for headaches. Several medications were tried with no effect, before she ordered an MRI. It took 8 months to get the MRI because she didn't put 'urgent' on the request. After the MRI was finally done, we found out that she'd left Thunder Bay without notification and we're still waiting for a referral to have it read another 9 months later...

Dr. Sweet has closed her practice and not informed her patients. I am on an a medication that you cannot go cold turkey yet I cannot renew this without seeing or talking to her. Completely unprofessional to leave her patients like this. If she knew she was closing her practice (and reading comments here, she said she was closing it in MAY), a letter to her patients at least informing them they would have to make alternate arrangements should have been sent. I have no respect for a doctor who leaves their patients without alternate care.

I had an mri in October/22, and still haven’t gotten results!!
I’ve tried the number several times, apparently it’s out of order. I called the MRI department. Apparently it’s not up to them to give out information, and nobody can direct me on how to get a hold of her so I can get my results.!!
Total incompetence in my opinion!!

I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in the circle of Willis at the beginning of this year. My dad almost died from an aneurysm when he was 30 thankfully he didn’t. When I found out I was just about to turn 31 and scared for my life and leaving my family and kids motherless. Dr sweet showed me my scans via text like I could actually follow along? Told me “ just live your life honey, you’re young. You’ll be ok”. When I reminded her my dad almost died from one at my age she said “ well I wouldn’t touch you anyways and I’m leaving my practice in may”. I wasn’t comfortable just leaving it and asked to be referred to another neurologist to get it dealt with. In the mean time I asked if there was anything I should avoid or do to help my aneurysm not rupture etc she gave me no information- just left me and referred me out.. when I finally got referred to a new doc he wanted new scans.. we’ll skip ahead after waiting I found out I’m clean and have NO aneurysm! So I’m beyond happy BUT extremely mad that dr sweet diagnosed me with something so serious and life altering and was SO wrong ! If it wasn’t for me advocating for myself I’d still be living my life in fear thinking I had an aneurysm. I feel so sorry for those that aren’t as lucky as me and maybe are misdiagnosed with something because of her. This wasn’t a little mistake it was huge. She should have her license reviewed.

I have no respect for this doctor. I am asking for a peer review. She was dismissive and lacked the knowledge necessary to diagnose trigeminal neuralgia and has no idea how to eleviate the pain associated with it. She simply said: "oh your doctor says it's trigeminal neuralgia ? Poor you! It's a life of pain. No cure. No meds help
Bye now!!!! What kind-of a doctor is this monster????

There was no staff. I stood at the desk wondering what to do for about 5 minutes before she came out saying for us to take a seat. She didn't examine me or help me at all. I've had 2 doctors tell me I have trigeminal neuralgia. I'm in pain every waking minute of the day. I walked in there with minor facial palsy and she asked me to pull up my Facebook so she could see what I looked like before. Then asked me what happened. Then asked random questions that have nothing to do with anything. Checked the reflexes of my knees and elbows. Was more concerned with getting me travel grants since I drove a 6 hour round trip for this 5 minute appointment where I thought she'd at least check me out. The one thing she did do was send in for another MRI but didn't seem to want to then told me to reduce my stress and that parenting is hard ??? Umm ok yup it is what does that have to do with my pain and funky face?? Then said ok no follow up with me bye-bye
Waste of time
She thinks she knows things but she doesn't.
See someone else she won't help you

I last saw Dr. Sweet in late October 2021. I’d had a telehealth appt in late June where she diagnosed me with fibular nerve palsy. I had a drop foot on the right side. She agreed to see me in person in August where she reiterated that I had a fibular nerve palsy. An MRI of my knee was ordered. She told me I spent too much time sitting with my 94 year old Mom over the CoVid winter (2020-2021). She told me for the second time to get Blundstone boots to support my foot, even showing me a website on her laptop. My mobility continued to deteriorate. My Family Doctor spoke with Dr. Sweet in late October out of her concern for me. Dr. Sweet saw me the next day which was (October 27/21). This time she diagnosed my left foot as dropped as well as the right. No tests were ordered. I was once again told that I needed to exercise because my problem was because of weak leg muscles. Five weeks later I was seen in Toronto by a neuromuscular specialist who told me he thinks I have ALS. Blood work was ordered and it turns out I have a paraprotein in my blood which can cause neuropathy. This doctor was cavalier and dismissive about my condition. She told me I didn’t have ALS when I asked her directly in October. She has the ability to do EMG testing but felt she could diagnose me without it or ordering special blood tests. She is absolutely shameful in terms of her oath to do no harm.
