I am an RN specializing in operating room nursing, and specifically orthopedics. I had one hip replaced in 2007, and the other in 2009 by Dr. Duval and his associate surgeons. The 2009 hip was done at his newly opened surgical suite in his building, a vast improvement from the facility he was renting space in (private surgery center). The staff at Drs. Duval and Lavoie's facility are head and shoulders swifter than the staff at the surgery center. I am pleased to have my active life back thanks to Dr. Duval's expertise in surgery and Dr. Lavoie's management of everything else in their business. Last year I spent a month hiking in the National Forest in Cloudcroft, New Mexico (9000 ft), and the year before I was backpacking gold prospecting supplies into the back country in Colorado, (brolltools.com, bucket roller to carry the heavy stuff) including getting up/down off the ground from a sleeping bag in a tent. This year I'm really getting serious about getting my conditioning kickstarted before going to the mountains, so I'm up to 20 minutes warmup on the elliptical before resistance weights. I'm on my feet in the operating room 8-12 hours per day, and could not have gone back to such a demanding job without Dr. Duval and team!

J'ai eu une chirurgie prothese du genou en 2005 ,jamais eu une douleur depuis, j'ai été traité on ne peut mieux au pavillon des Charmilles ,le docteur Duval et Pauline Lavoie et toute l'équipe sont tellement attentionnés. Merci

J'ai consulté Dr Duval, qui m'a recommandé une opération à 25000 $
Après avoir consulté un deuxième médecin, je m'en suis tiré avec un infiltration de Synvisc.
Cela vaut la peine de visionner l'émission Enquete, qui parle de ce charlatan.
Votre site est important, il peut mettre en garde le public contre des charlatans

I was extremely pleased with the experience I had replacing one knee and repairing the other at Duval Clinique. The team communicated fluently with me in English, although the working language in the clinic is French. Only knee, hip and shoulder replacements are done in this surgery/hospital/physio clinic setting. I stayed six days and had both knees treated at the same time, saving both in time and travel expenses. I found the care to be excellent and the food delicious. The doctor took several hours to describe options and procedures available to me, and checked frequently after the surgery to make certain I was doing well. My medical information and physio requirements were sent to my primary doctor in Calgary to ensure continuity of care. Le Dr. Nicolas Duval m'a opéré des 2 genoux (prostheses completes bi-laterals) le 23 septembre dernier. Il a fait un miracle. Quelle dextérité, la job est parfait. Je marche déja depuis plus de 2 semaines sans aucun appui. Oui, ça fait mal... mais, je marche enfin. Merci Dr. Duval. Je lui mets un 10/10.

I had a 'macerated' tear of the lateral meniscus of my left knee. My knee would lock or give out unexpectedly. Finally, I fell and fractured my left ankle, and realized surgery would be necessary. I consulted two orthopods, who didn't take the time to explain my options (rude!). I was referred to Dr. Duval, who has his own operating facility in Laval. I obtained a rapid appointment; the staff was friendly and efficient; Dr. Duval explained the procedure he would be doing by arthroscopy (yay! small incisions! informed consent!). I was scheduled rapidly (before cycling season). I am scared of needles, blood, you name it; he was remarkably patient with me (whew!). I was able to observe the procedure on-screen, with my husband at my side. I was able to walk (limp) out; I was training within 10 days, and three weeks later, I was doing 60 km on my bike (what a relief!). My mobility is 100% in less than 4 weeks. Boy, do I ever recommend Dr. Duval if your mobility is important to you!

I am fully satisfied with this doctor and his wife whom is also a very good doctor.I am surprised that some people are not rating this clinic as the best because they are the best and people come from everywhere to get hip and knee replacement surgery. My wife had a total hip replacement and we are very happy with the results after two weeks she can walk only with a cane and do exercises for rehab of her thigh muscles. She had what I thought was an infection to her wound and Dr Lavoie asked us to visit at no cost of course and everything is under control she reassured us. I recommend Dr Duval's clinic. Unlike others who wrote comments on this site I find Both doctors very explicit and pleasant. The cost was detailed as follows: Surgery with two orthopedists,anasthesist, and general practician $5000, Prosthesis $3500, Clinic services $4550, 7 days hospitalisation $2450, physiotherapy $800.

I was very disappointed and I would not recommend him. I had a torn meniscus and after operation everything was supposed to go well. But even after 2 years I’m in pain and knee get swallow. I went twice seeing him but he sent me right away in physio without even requesting addition MRI or consulting me.

Si l'oération est une réussite pour vous! Bravo! Tout va pour le mieux alors.... Par contre, dans le cas où le résultat escompté n'est pas là, comme dans le cas de ma mère en octobre 2007, cela ne fut pas un succès et aucun suivi par la suite. Elle n'a jamais pu remarcher de façon autonome. Alors ce n'est pas un endroit à aller dans le cas où cela tourne mal, aucune solution de rechange, aucun suivi....no much money...no funny...!
