I had an appointment after surgery to receive my treatment options with Dr. Shaik. Once he presented these choices, I requested time to consider these options and he agreed and suggested that I book a follow up appointment to give my decision.

When I returned for my appointment I had a few questions which he answered. I said that I was thinking of not doing the chemo. He immediately responded with, "it's probably too late to be effective now anyway".

Both my friend (who had also been in attendance at the first appointment with him) and I were a little shocked by his curt response.

I asked why my follow up appointment was booked so late if the timing for chemo was ineffective. He said that he supposed it was the earliest appointment they could do. If I had decided to go ahead with the chemotherapy would he have advised me that it was probably going to be ineffective anyway?

He marched me out of the office and took me to the registration desk in the Unit and instructed the staff to discharge me from the clinic. It's like he was punishing me for not following his rules.

As a result of this I have had to follow up with my GP on anything that seems "off" when I do self-examinations.

Shame on you, Dr. Shaikh. It's time you learned some respect for your patients.

insisted I had to have surgery, as far as I know did not consider ablation, I was told via pet scan I had at least 5 tumors... ( so possibly more ? ) they simply sliced of 40 % of my liver, and used ablation for one more...there was 3 in my 40 %$.... 3 + 1 = 4 ...even a kindergarten kid knows that... They to me they had got all the cancer and was cured.... then they apparently forgot to check my liver 3 months later, so after another 3 months I went to hospital ( 6 mos after surgery ) after feeling a possible blood clot in my left calf muscle... ( my prior research gave me this knowledge ).... hospital then told me I had 2 more tumors...LOL, or was this in fact the remnants of the " at least 5 tumors " that the pet scan had identified ??? I think so.... I had a post op meeting with the surgeon a month after, I questioned him on what could be doneif more tumors appeared, he told me " we can simply use ablation to remove them " well after the 6 months had gone by... the ablation specialist told me I could not have this done as they were too large... it goes on and on... but I am still breathing, on Chemo and whatever else life throws at me... Apparently ablation is the preffered method as the tissue can re grow around itself... when removal of and entire section the liver has nothing there to re grow to.... ablation on the other hand leaves surround ing tissue to which new liver tissue can regrow... I did tell him I thought his handling of my health was laxadazical.... he was in shock for sure,,, I asked for a 2nd opinion , he merely sent me back to the surgeon.... who then said I had a year to live... I have never smoked or been a user of much alcahol at all....

I work in healthcare and went to my moms appointment with her. He was very uncompassionate and seemed like he was just there for the $. I would love to have her be seen by someone else. I've worked with a few amazing oncologists that I wish were closer to where she needs them. As someone else mentioned about his passing off the test results to a GP I can truly see this. My mom is waiting on a CT scan to see if the CA has spread.. her GP is away and she has left multiple messages to have someone call her and she has heard nothing yet. Ask for another if you get referred to him.

This doctor is as unhelpful, rude and uncaring as others have previously stated. It reaches the extent where I would argue the claim that he's grossly negligent. He defers 90% of all the symptoms, side effects, all labs other than routine chemo requisitions, all prescriptions, and medical issues brought forward to not his problem and ("your gp can do this"). I have presented very serious medical issues to him with complete dismal (almost as if I were a ghost in the room. One ex: I have -- in the duration of treatment -- lost all feeling in a substantial portion of both of my feet and he just waved it off as "it wouldn't be from this" then immediately changed topics). I will be approaching hospital administration -- with a lawyer if it comes to that -- to have this doctor removed from my case and to have another assigned to finish out the duration of my treatment. I am scared for my prognosis with him looking after my file.

The 2 times we met with this Dr he showed zero compassion when delivering life changing news.
Very negative & cold. I understand he "does this all day " but there's got to be some classes to teach these drs not to be Medical Robots.

Dr. Shaikh treated my wife's Brest cancer and we feel that he gave us three extra years with my loving wife. She adored him. He was always ready to listen and included me in all of decisions. Thank you Dr. Shaikh.

Dreadful and unsympathetic. Doesn't provide any helpful information and delegates everything back for the GP to look into.

Dr. Shaikh manages and coordinates my metastatic colorectal cancer. You will see him unbent and approachable once you realize that his field of expertise is not exactly a cheery discipline, and that he himself from time to time deserves an encouraging word to do his job. I feel in good hands.
