I rarely write reviews for doctors but my experience with endocrinologist Dr. Sylvie Ott left me shocked and angry.

I was referred to this clinic for help with chronic and debilitating symptoms potentially linked to PCOS but suspected as something else- these including chronic pain, suicidality, extreme fatigue, random weight gain and progressively chronic IBD.

I told her upfront I had an ED and needed sensitivity when discussing weight. She told me repeatedly that I was obese (for context on how absurd this is- I am a size 10, a personal trainer and a nutritionist specialist). She offered me ozempic and metformin and no other treatment. Told me that my symptoms weren’t relevant bc I had recently gotten a period so I must be fine and that she had no answers for me. Probably repeated 7-8 times that the issue was obesity and claimed that there was no real treatment for obesity other than ozempic. She would not interrogate any of my symptoms and instead fixated exclusively on my weight. This experience traumatized me and I’m worried about how it will impact my mental health.

She referred me to an allergist when I mentioned worsening allergy symptoms and suggested daily antihistamines. When I said they were not a healthy treatment for women with endocrine issues because of how antihistamines represses estrogen, she said that was not her speciality (she is literally a hormone specialist). She was one of the least helpful and least knowledgeable professionals i have spoken to in years. Arrogant and dismissive.

DO NOT GO HERE if you do not want to be fat shamed, have your entire prognosis built around your “BMI” or have your own knowledge repeatedly dismissed. I waited in chronic pain for months for this appointment and left in tears.

I don't like writing reviews on doctors. especially in 2023 with a lack of specialists and the hard work they do. but I have to say this Dr is very conceded and arrogant. I would rather die than get treated by this doctor. no expertise in Parathyroid disease and even said my disease was not as important because I am taking medications to control my hypercalcemia. a very rare problem and only cure is surgery. said I could live my whole life on medication without any problems. Then why is she still treating me.

Very helpful. She is my second endocrinologist and she is the one who clear out the fact that I am not a type 1 but a type 2. Great knowledge on the new product and meds available out there.

Awful doctor. Clearly didn't know much about my condition and started with preconceived ideas. Got angry with me when I tried to tell her she was wrong. Did not listen to what I was saying.
