Perhaps Dr. Mullin is okay with normal range pregnancies, but if complications arise, in my experience, find another doctor. I was a patient back in the days when she was in partnership with Janus & Patel – both were great, but I had to deal with Mullin about 90% of the time, unfortunately. My pregnancy journey was terrible. I had highly severe (HG) Hyperemesis Gravidarum - full nine months up to the point of delivery. She did what she could for me with IVs and meds but had horrible bedside manners and would imply it was all in my mind. It was not in my mind and the HD was very severe. Pregnancy should be an exciting & lovely time but can be scary. When you do not have a doctor that is supportive, it is beyond isolating. I was becoming scared of her because she would bark at me or give long sighs on the phone when I needed help. I dreaded those long-annoyed sighs, I dreaded speaking to her. Patel kept me in the hospital, long term until I gave birth and delivered my beautiful, healthy son. This was back in 1996. Years later, I scheduled an appointment for birth control and routine examination, Patel & Janus since retired. I was stuck with her again. When I reminded her of who I was, she looked at me like I was from another planet, and so did her nurse – they just kept staring at me like I was another species. I was so embarrassed that I never followed through with the follow-up appointment and went elsewhere. Anyone suffering from HD, or who is a survivor of HD, please see the HER Foundation website – you are not alone, and you should not be made to feel alone, isolated, or helpless especially by healthcare providers. T Find supportive healthcare professionals who are on your side. Mullin was not one of them.
