The most knowledgeable, kindest doctor! Dr. Strode has a wonderful beside manner. She listens and is very thorough with her patients. The staff are wonderful also!

Dr. Strode has amazing bedside manner. She is kind and compassionate, and willing to take the time to listen, understand, educate and support. She believes in informed consent. I have been under the care of 4 different OBs in Guelph and have had interactions with countless more at the hospital and she is by far the best.

Delivered both my children. Dr. Strode is the best. She speaks to you like a person who knows their body and gives you autonomy in decision making. Always explains and helps you to understand risks and side effects. Everyone should have an OB/GYN like this and she should be used as a model for how women’s healthcare should look.

Where to start. I guess with the doctor herself. Yes, she is bubbly and happy and nice. But my positivity ends there. She was constantly pressuring me to be induced because of a suspected big baby. The evidence does not suggest that an induction is indicated when they suspect a big baby. I had to do my own research, speak with other doctors and obstetricians to learn this. She could not give me a thorough and evidence based reason to push for induction. I felt I was constantly fighting off the “stretch and sweep”, the unnecessary cervical checks, and the unnecessary induction scheduling. Very frustrating. As it turned out my baby was not big, and there was no reason to induce as I went into labour two days before my due date.

She also never once asked what my preferences for the birth would be and advised me not to make a birth plan as they are “not that helpful”. I wish I had made one. At my 6 week pp checkup she had a student in with her and did not speak to me almost at all during the appointment. Everything I learned about my healing was by listening to what she was saying to the student. Felt so disrespected to be spoken of in stead of addressed directly in that vulnerable state.

Next, the staff. When I started going to the office the receptionist was a grumpy woman which I didn’t mind too much. However later the next person working reception would say my weight out loud in the office when I was facing away from the scale (I had stated at every appointment that I did not want to know my weight for personal reasons). Not to go into it but it was fairly traumatic and I’m surprised anyone would be saying that in earshot of the whole waiting room and the patient who is facing backward on the scale.

Overall I absolutely hated going there and it was by far the worst part of pregnancy and postpartum which were otherwise thankfully beautiful and stress free.

Kind, patient, very helpful and always goes the extra step to make sure my partner and I were comfortable. She is literally the best medical professional I have come across. I feel lucky to have had Dr. Strode as my OBGYN!

I can't say enough about doctor strode and her staff they really make you feel at home and comfortable she is patient very very kind I'm really listens to you even off topic, she is a darling doctor and she knows her stuff very smart young woman love her to pieces

Dr. Strode is a very kind caring and sensitive doctor. Very down to earth and she talks to you so you understand everything. I wish all doctors could be like her. Her staff are wonderful.
