He was a great doctor at the beginning for a few years, but then just bailed out on trying to maintain my good health. Pretty much said don't know what to do anymore. Office staff is not pleasant and always get a busy signal when calling, but was always told to call the office if you have questions, but they really don't want you calling or asking questions.

Dr. Cruz is very thorough. He is attentive to a patients concerns and addresses them exhaustively. He is open to suggestions and will explain why they will or will not work in this particular circumstance. I am diabetic and I feel that he will consistently review he prognosis to be sure he is completely on top of the situation. He does NOT let things slide. He is the best!

Best endocrinologist ever! I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was 16 years old, and after having to leave my pediatric endocrinologist, I had a hard time finding a decent adult one. I originally went to Birnbaum and was completely disappointed. Luckily the ladies at my wife's nail salon recommended Dr. Cruz. He was super attentive, took almost an hour with me on my first appointment and very thorough. Any time I have a complication or a question, he, not his office staff, returns my calls. He is very knowledgable about type 1 diabetes and I am overly confident with my health in his care. I see him every 3-6 months, and he still spends at least a half hour with me, going over my numbers, etc. Never is he rushed or "in and out" in 2 minutes like every other doctor I have been to. Even if I moved away from the area, I would make a trip out to see him.

I saw this DR 2x. I have a thyroid problem and I don't feel he knows enough about this disease. Wanted to put me on Synthroid which I know has bad results for a lot of patients. When I told his assistant, she emphatically told me No, I can't have anything else. I wanted Armour instead. This doctor was nice but doesn't relate well to patients, at least me, and just stares into his computer screen looking at my lab results. He wanted to remove my thyroid even though no cancer cells were present. I realize this is protocol with some doctors, but I also know that many thyroid patients after having their thyroid removed, didn't have cancer. It is always a rushed visit leaving me with even more questions. Staff is very busy, phone calls not returned timely or at all. I have to keep calling bk. His assistant is very rude, that was the last straw 4 me. I never went back. If you have thyroid problems u may want to look for a thyroid specialist also.
