Dr.Bhatnagar performed a bypass on my father 5 years ago. The surgery ran much longer than predicted (nearly 7 hours) and the quality of work he performed diminished during the surgery. Where his breastplate is wired back together is misaligned, the incisions (9 in total) where they harvested leg veins where poorly stitched up and flesh was misaligned. I knew something went wrong during the surgery process as he didn’t come and address me with an update (as the other surgeons performing identical surgery’s did to the other families waiting). A RN came out after 5 hours saying they where still operating. When he finally addressed me after the surgery he avoided eye contact or any real conversation. The follow up care my father received was minimal at best and he has not fully recovered from this surgery. He has lost mobility since the vein harvesting on his legs. His overall health is much worse post surgery including memory loss, I suspect that the anesthesia was also a factor in his health decline. There is a rule in surgery, you never allow the patient to die on the operating table. I understand that problems
Happen, mistakes can be made, and we are dealing with fragile and complex human bodies. What I don’t accept was the omniscient attitude of the surgeon before the operation, the shoddy surgical workmanship, the complete lack of transparency about how the surgery went and the poor follow up care. I believe this doctor can do better, perhaps he will take this to heart.

Quad by pass 2013 March in Trillium Mississauga Hospital, he used my own blood and a package substitute blood. Great Cardio surgeon Doctor . Now 7 years of excellent health, full youth performance .

DR.G and his staff were magnificent.....placing a mechanical mitral valve and doing a single by-pass....it's being 5 years since the surgery and I'm still gainfully employed as a heavy equipment truck driver...Thank-you Dr. Bhatnagar....now...if you could only find me a new wife!!...lol...laughter...another good medicine....

Dr. Bhatnagar and his team were excellent. I had an aortic valve replacement. Triple bypass. Upper chamber repair and a pacemaker implant. I noticed he was always checking on my progress with the nursing staff. I was treated exceptionally well by the lCU Staff especially by
" Caroline " my nurse and my " angel at the bedside ".

Dr. Bhatnagar will appear at first to be very compassionate and understanding to the patient and their family. Then - after the surgery - he will no longer care about his patients and they are just another subject that he preformed a surgery on. Unfortunately, his surgeries appear to go well - and then months to a year later, the real truth comes out from the surgery and many complications ensue (that don't appear to directly correlate with the surgery so Dr. Bhatnagar couldn't care less - but are in fact a direct cause from his surgery). If you have the option to - find another cardiac surgeon to perform the surgery, you will be happy you did.

I would like to thank Dr Gopal Bhatnagar for everything he has done for me. Since my 1st visit with him which my wife and Father was present , Dr Bhatnagar was able to explain in detail what was going to be involved in surgery and made myself feel very relaxed.
He performed my surgery and I can not be more thank full to him for correcting my mitral heart valve issue. I owe my life to this man as everything he does is great !! : )
I would also like to mention his team that works with him and his other staff are very great people and do what ever if they can to help you.

Once my wife and I met with Dr Bhatnagar for my pre-op consultation, we were very much impressed with his confidence. Going in we had already heard of his reputation . Only question I had was how soon can I have the triple bypass done? Had surgery done April 17 without complications and was home April 21. May God always be at your side Dr Bhatnagar as you continue saving lives. We are very greatful to you and your staff. Ram
