Dr. Wood came highly recommended for ACL surgery from two former teammates who have both had ACL replacement done in the past few years. It was a great referral because Dr. Wood has been excellent from the beginning until now at three weeks post-op. He has always patiently taken his time to thoroughly and realistically explain procedures, results and expectations for returning to competitive sports and everyday life after surgery. The whole process from office staff, physical therapy and the medical treatment has been excellent.

Total knee replacement. Dr. Wood did inaccurate valgus cut, which caused femoral component to be misaligned. Caused leg to go sideways. Dr. Wood had no idea how to fix what he had done to me. Had to have revision knee replacement surgery to correct this.

Dr. Wood is compassionate, takes as much time as you need, listens to every word you say, and really cares about his patients. Read his mission statement on the Wake Orthopaedic website--he's the only doctor listed who actually wrote a statement, and he talks about how his concern for his patients is more important than money. You can tell that from the moment he walks in the room. After seeing two other orthopedists who were totally useless, I went ot see Dr. Wood and I am so glad I found him. His staff is very friendly and competent and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to be called back for my appointment. His physical therapists are excellent as well. I wish I could give Dr. Wood more than 5 stars because he deserves it. If it's possible to say you "enjoyed" going to see a doctor, then I'd have to say that about being treated by Dr. Wood!
