Even though the ER doc thought I had a bowel blockage that required immediate surgery, Dr Stump examined me, listened to me, reviewed tests results and recommended we start with a nasogastric tube for a few days to see if my adhesions would calm down. If they hadn't, surgery would be performed. I really appreciated her conservative approach wich allowed me to skip another surgery because each time I am operated on I develop more adhesions.

When a patient has an internal fistula,a q-tip external exam is not enough to find the problem. A specific test must be performed internally. The doctor denied the patient 3 times before we had to move on to another surgeon. Great surgeon, however rolling your eyes at your patient and not believing them is not professional conduct. She had a learning curve, but will be an excellent doctor with more experience.
