Pre-op appointment. Dr was excellent at explaining the reason for the operation, and what would happen if I did not have it. He explained the length of time I was likely to be in hospital, and the risks and benefits of the surgery.

I was recommended to have surgery, and referred to Dr Ryan. In the consultation, he explained the proposed surgery, and the reasons for it extremely well. He also asked if I had any questions, and answered them all very patiently. Top marks for patience, friendliness and clear explanation. His reception staff are also friendly and very approachable.

Dr. Ryan removed my gallbladder just before Christmas. Firstly, I was extremely thankful his staff (amazing Kelly) was so accommodating helping to get me in before Christmas. Dr. Ryan was friendly, approachable and explained things incredibly well. I was impressed that he was so meticulous post-surgery and made sure I was 100% OK before leaving hospital - following up with MRI's and tests. I would 100% recommend him.

Dr Ryan removed my partner's adrenal gland (via keyhole surgery) and inserted a port for chemotherapy. He was professional and helpful. He later (after admitting he could not perform a particular surgery) recommended a surgeon who provided excellent care for removal of cancer (after surgeons at SJOG Subiaco all refused to operate). We found him honest, professional, helpful and friendly.

An amazing surgeon who has incredible compassionate, warm and caring and his surgical skill were perfect. He was a pleasure to deal with: always polite, had time for all my questions and his post -operative care was amazing. I would rate him 6/5!

Lovely doctor. Excellent surgeon and great bedside manner. If I need a general surgeon again, I will certainly be seeking him out.

I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone. He treated me rudely, his diagnostic and surgical skills , I would rate at the level of a bad trainee. He was dishonest in his commitments to me.
If you value your body stay away.

I had Hernia treated by Simon Ryan and it was a complete nightmare from start to Finnish. The surgery was the worst i have ever had or known he sliced me open on both sides to treat 1 hernia after telling me in pre op consultation it would be key hole surgery. I went back to him 2 weeks later as the swelling was unbearable and he wasn't interested at all. he told me to go and let it heal in time. 2 years later i contacted him again because he didn't drain it when i asked i developed a hydrocele on my right nut due to the trauma which needed further surgery. during our last consultation he admitted it was his fault and was very sorry about what happened and i should have been treated better. I asked Simon Ryan to foot the bill for the further surgery and he flatly refused and washed his hands with it. I contacted Patient liaison to complain and got it sorted but i am still very angry that Simon Ryan can perform such a disastrous surgery and walk away without a care in the world. I would not recommend this surgeon to anyone and his attitude is not the sort you would expect when you are paying the amount he charges for surgery. This snipit is a true account of my experience with this Dr. There are other things i would like to say but it wouldn't be good reading.

Excellent surgeon!! I had a full thyroidectomy which went well with no complications & my scar, what scar?? Dr Ryan did an exceptional job in hiding my scar.. You wouldn't even know where the it was..

I would thoroughly recommend Mr Simon Ryan. He was understanding and informative about my hernia operation. He performed my surgery well according to my nurses. He does an outstanding job.
