So at last Dr Adrian Reynolds has left the building re Tasmania. I feel for any future opioid and or benzo' clients who now will fall under the control of this strange and twisted human being. His legacy of instilling fear into any and all genuine community medical practitioners who prescribed opioids and or benzo's is still felt across this state. Under Adrian's rule he used his power as Clinical Director at ADS to destroy the careers of prescribing Dr's and one wonderful and caring addiction specialist, who's loss is still greatly felt by his many patients. I was invited to a urgent meeting called by AR one morning. It was a sight to behold, Adrian completely lost control, red faced, veins popping on his face while he yelled and abused my two associates over 2 research papers we were to distribute at a ATDC Drug Conference. He was so angry , during his unstoppable rant he'd forgotten their first names. He disregarded our work and research and called the authors' bias and one eyed (he would know), I could not believe what I was seeing, I had never witnessed such a dressing down, AR threatened our female representative that, 'even his(Adrian's) wife wanted a piece of her and she was lucky AR's wife was not present. It was surreal. But, AR made his point that if the documents were released at the 2014 conference, they and their organisation would feel his retribution re funding! His zeal for a one size fits all approach to pharmacotherapy management in Tasmania was delusional. It took many years but finally people recognised Adrian's skill as a clinician among other personal traits were clearly lacking. Did Adrian ever take the Hippocratic Oath re 'do no harm'. If he did he didn't bother to make it a priority. He was more of a head kicking bureaucratic tool hellbent towards his secret mission, to make the lives of his clients most miserable. I do not hate the man but, I am not sorry that he is gone.

Ah at last.....Reynolds see how Canberra is bringing recreational drug personal possession use into the real world that we actually live in - it’s more complicated than you ever understood - best of all Hobart got rid of you and your twisted ideas, great stuff, time for you to retire on the beach at Queensland me thinks after the fall.

When I saw him he was incapable of listening and let us be very clear he is not a Psychiatrist. How fantastic that he no longer controls State run Alcohol Drug Services, and that is for a reason a darned great reason after his complete incompetence across the board was acknowledged. Best thing that happened was to get rid of him along with his crazy ideas, just read comments here and other places, He was incapable of moving with the times and simply did not have up to date qualifications. He tried to namby pamby baby me, what a sad old bully with a tattered reputation. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Since he’s been gone from ADS it’s given dynamic incredible people the opportunity they needed. He tried to squash everyone so he wasn’t shown up too much, and then he was totally shown up.
Happy to share my bad experiences because he’s not there now!

Dr Adrian Reynolds basically cleaned up tasmanian opiate prescribing. He targeted GPs who put being popular with clients above their personal safety. Do we need to see what is happening in America here,?. The health department takes peoples death seriously. DR REYNOLDS IS A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS
A BRAvE MAN WITH INTEGRITY

Agree fully with the reviewers here brave enough to share. He has far too much power and no one has the guts to reign him in - no one says “no” to Reynolds. Do as ya told or ya life ain’t worth living, that’s how I’m being “‘treated”’ Talk about patient damage.

Don't get involved in anything to do with this doctor is my opinion. Those who have will get this comment and know why. Other drs seem held back by his approval it looks like. Do what you need to get different help if you can because he runs the facility through everyone else we found the hard hard way. Just some stuff to know if you come across him.

Totally get where the other reviewers are coming from and we can’t all be wrong!! I experienced shocking distress with Adrian Reynolds telling me what I had to do. Arrogant, full of his own self importance. Has an inability to listen or respect patients, he appears to take pleasure in treating us as smelly stuff on his shoe. Shame he appears to think he is a law unto himself and therefore asserts his patronising condescending controlling tactics in every way possible to influence other care givers negatively. Wielding power can be dangerous, he comes across as a master manipulator. Surely he will retire any day now and a progressive young doctor with excellent communication, and commitment to patients as unique individuals will get the chance to make his or her mark on an important service. This doctor is well and truly past his use by date. If you have to have anything to do with him, insist the session is recorded so he can’t twist your words around and possibly “gaslight”. BEWARE I found that he messed with my head space and caused multiple problems that would have otherwise been avoided. Again beware please, don’t let him force you into anything for any reason, make your own decisions in your own time and get as many medical opinions as you need to get to make your own decisions and remember he is not a psychiatrist.

destroying harm minimisation in this state, it appears that unless you want to be completely abstinent from every drug there is no room for you at the public alcohol and drug service. he needs to be sacked or retired so that new thinking can come in and the doctors that work there can practice without him having to have the final word "this will need to go to Adrian for consideration" I want a doctor that can make his on mind up on my treatment.
