Dr. Sonia Parikh's Credentials

Biography

Dr. Sonia Parikh is a Stanford-trained psychiatrist and cofounder and medical director of Savant Care, Inc. She completed her residency training at Stanford University, where she gained expertise in treating the entire spectrum of mental illness through an integrative approach to psychological well-being -- via medications, psychotherapy and alternative treatments. She attended UC San Diego School of Medicine for medical school, where she graduated with honors and was heavily involved in community outreach and increasing awareness for mental health issues. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University, where she obtained her bachelors degree in Sociology and South Asian Studies. Dr. Parikh is highly versed in general adult psychiatric treatment including but not limited to depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, bipolar disorder, Adult ADHD, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, insomnia, delirium, post-partum illnesses, alcohol abuse and other substance use problems. She is licensed to prescribe Suboxone for opioid replacement therapy in California. Finally, she has expertise in multiple psychotherapy modalities and specializes in longterm outpatient psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a focus on understanding and healing the deep-rooted sources of psychiatric symptoms.
