Dr. McDonnell gave me the most thorough diagnostic exam I have ever had. Dr. McDonnell is compassionate. I have received more help from him than any other doctor I have met. His staff has always been helpful, even to the point of working late. I wouldn’t want any other pain specialist.

Dr. Mcdonnel is great. He is very thorough. He always try’s to make me laugh when I don’t want to. He has done several nerve blocks on me and I couldn’t be happier. He is always helpful and answers all my questions. I wouldn’t want any other pain specialist.

Dr. McDonnell lacks any kind of empathy or compassion for his patients and enjoys inflicting pain on them and then belittling them for their response to that pain. The first time I seen him he told me that pain won't kill anyone, and then he drastically reduced my pain meds that were previously prescribed by my PCP. Upon my next visit with him he was giving me knee injections. I was in such extreme pain during the procedure that I was unable to keep from crying, so he accused me of acting like a 10 year old. I felt like this comment was totally uncalled for and insulting. Most doctors actually feel guilty for causing so much pain, but Dr. McDonnell would rather insult his patients if they can't handle the pain as well as he feels they should.

Dr. McDonnell gave me the most thorough diagnostic exam I have ever had. He has done nerve blocks on me in 3 different areas and I got relief after each one. He listened to me and explained things very well. I would recommend him to anyone for pain management. His staff is courteous, punctual and knowledgeable. They have a genuine compassion for the patients.

Dr. Mcdonnel is by far the most intelligent doctor I have encountered. He does not need MRI's (I was a skeptic at first) Anybody considering surgery please take the time to talk with Dr. M, you will not regret. You will always look back when you have plates, screws and rods and wish you would have made an appointment with Mcdonnel. Waiting list is long... only good doctors have this problem.

Dr. McDonnell has worked with me since 2001. He is compassionate with me. And He is passionate about helping when I have pain. I have received more help from him than any other doctor I have met. His staff has always been helpful, even to the point of working late (up to 8PM) to help.

Not very good bedside manner. Did not want to listen to patient concerns. Did four nerve blocks that didn't help and I had a reaction to and wanted to do another one. Did not get very good pain relief and he did not believe in ct scans or mri's saying he didn't need them.Thought he was a know it all.

He is good at the physical act of procedures for pain releif, but both his bedside manner and his diagnosis ability for me, in my opinion sucked. I will stop here because if I say more I may regret what I have said.
