Dr. Patel and his office manager Sara have been part of my life for over 10 years. I have severe ulcerative colitis and Dr. Patel has been there for me every step of the way. Between hospitalizations, heart surgery and pregnancy he has guided my family and I with true empathy and compassion. I truly would not be here without out him and Sara.

After having an MRI or Cat Scan done in which a dye was injected for contrast. Following the MRI there was a mild rash which was listed as a common side affect on the paperwork received prior to the dye injection. The form indicated that it should pass within 2 or 3 days I believe and it did.

Dr. Jayesh Patel wanted to prescribe Benedryl and Prednisone to be taken before the next ink injection and MRI.

When I asked why Prednisone he became angry as though I was questioning his decision when what I was trying to do is understand why it was even being suggested. He immediately became defensive and in an angry tone said we can get you a second opinion as you seem to question my decision. With further discussion it finally came out that he wanted to use Prednisone to avoid an anaphylactic reaction.

While the patient in this case has several food allergies or sensitivities they have never had any anaphylactic reaction and no doctor has ever recommended they carry an Epi Pen for any of them.

It seemed overkill to me to prescribe Prednisone in this case. Once again he displayed much anger.

While I did not question the knowledge of Dr. Patel, his angry reaction to my questioning the use of the drug seems to indicate a lack of confidence in himself and this leads me to question his ability as a doctor.

I would certainly look to an allergist for a second opinion now.

In this case there has been previous sensitivity to drugs as well and I wonder if he considered the possibility of an anaphylactic reaction to Prednisone itself.

I was quite done with him by the end of this appointment and although I was not the patient I would not use him for myself or recommend him to anyone.

I have had no problem with Dr. Patel and have even suggested my spouse and friends go to him as well. The staff was forthcoming and efficient. Dr. Patel answered all of my questions and I had no issues with punctuality. When the time comes I will go back without hesitation.

He took 12 months to organize tests and when they did not give him the answers he hoped for, he labeled my issues as something I'll have to manage through self awareness and dietary understanding. I throw up multiple times a day, with no tiggers that have been identified. I've spent two years feeling miserable and weak each day and Dr. Patel doesn't care and won't investigate further.

The worst Dr ever. Very rude and not sympathetic to patient's pain. No respect and is knowledge is very mediocre. His staff is so rude on the phone and tends to brush off people all the time.
