I did not have drainage tubes put in my ears as a child and as a result had a mass in both ears due to recurrent ear infections. These masses released enzymes which slowly deteriorated my inner ears. I noticed I was losing my hearing. I had surgery on both ears to remove the masses and reconstructive surgery on both ears to restore my hearing. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Rivas. He went above and beyond what was expected. After working a full shift on his birthday last year, he cancelled his celebration plans to perform my emergency surgery. He finished that next morning at 3 a.m. He did not pass it on to another doctor or make me wait until his next shift. He always listens, and is always kind. He has now completed 4 surgeries on my ears and my hearing has been restored to a level I never expected due to his knowledge and skill. I am a musician and can now continue playing instead of being forced into retirement. Dr. Rivas is a credit to his profession.
