Please review the below comments about Dr. Ryan Ou (who can speak Chinese and in Richmondhill) - they are true.
Y2013 comment about terrible reception manner. 10 years later now, same terrible there. Receptionist seems be Dr. wife and she never ever be laid off for her bad manner. She may even stay on top of Dr.

Stay away from them.

My rate for Dr. 50 of 100, unqualified for patient communication.
My rate for receptionist, 2 of 100. 1 point for human, 1 point for able speak Chinese, no points for everything else.

I had a pretty good experience with Dr. Ou and he's knowledgable and generally care for his patient. He had done successfully surgery in my case and I had recovered pretty quick and all in all I'd recommend Dr Ou to any of my friends.
Meanwhile, I'd recommend Dr Ou to provide more support for patient education and reception shall be more friendly and supportive to provide services to patients.

Three years ago my mother went to Richmond Hill hospital and unfortunately Dr. Ryan Ou was the doctor on duty. He failed to realize that the problem was the ovary. He said that everything was normal but it wasn't. After two years with multiple tests (ultra-sound, CT scan, and MRI) he could not understand that there was a tumor on her ovary. He wanted to remove the ovary. We got a second opinion from anther Gynecologist and he quickly realized it was much more serious and ended up being Ovarian Cancer. Ultimately because of this doctor incompetence my mother has suffered with very late stage of Ovarian Cancer. To give you an idea of how terrible this doctor is, our family friend who is a psychologist saw the CT scan and realized it was a tumor before this doctor! Can you imagine! I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this doctor at all cost!

My wife was miscarried after 32 weeks of pregnancy. Dr. Ou did not show any experience to handle my wife's cases when she started developing bleeding in 10 weeks of pregnancy. Dr. Ou told us that this is not uncommon and not to worry about it. We were referred to some specialists in MacKenzie Health General Hospital. After several visists nothing was found to put my baby in danger. The bleeding eventually stopped in 20th week of pregnancy. We were still worried that my wife would continue to stay laying in bed as much as possible. We continued to visit Dr. Ou for every 2 weeks. But Dr. Ou changed to 3 weeks after my wife stopped bleeding. We thought that this would be fine after we went back on 32th week of pregnancy. Dr. Ou did his usual routine of checks. He used 15 minutes and still could not find baby's heart beat. That was the worst moment of my wife and myself! Of course he would not have any explanation why my baby died or follow ups with us. We were sent to MacKenzie Hospital. My wife was almost collapsed mentally when she has to force inducing the baby out but of course the baby was already passed away.
We did sit in Dr. Ou's office for 15 minutes while he was trying to find a slot to get ultrasound scan before we got all these terrible news. We realized that he has 40+ patients in one day. How could he be so caring while having so many patients? Please do the math!

Dr. Ou is very nice person but his receptionist is really disappointed. She never answer a call and always transfer the call the record machine. And she never return your call even you leave message for many times. I don't know why thy bother to have a call then.

I don't understand how Dr' Ou receptions is still employed with such bad ratings. I have never come accross with such rude person like her. She has no manners at all and makes you feel very uncofortable with quesions that she asks when you want to book an appointment. She is not a doctor that I need to explain everything. No one wants to go and see a doctor if everything is OK. Of course you have a reason to see the doctor, why does she needs to know exactly where the infection is , how bad is the infections and so on and on. I have complained to Dr.Ou about the receptionist three times. I see nothing has been done. She needs to go to school to learn how to cultivate good manners. And if she ever came accross my comments she should type and keep in front of her my last sentnece : "Excellent manners can help you to have better relationships with people you know, and those you will meet."
