I didn't have a positive experience with Dr. Shaker. It was my first appointment and he barely greeted or looked at me--just typed on the computer as he talked to me. When I stated my concerns I felt he was dismissive and impatient. He had an air of arrogance about him. The front staff are young and not well trained.

I needed to find a new GP after mine retired. My old GP of 35 years had pretty much set the bar for GPs in Calgary, so I figured it would take me months (if not years) to find a GP who was half as good as my previous GP. I made quite a few meet and greet appointments with other GPs, but no one came anywhere close to the standard I was looking for -- until I met Dr. Shaker. I think that's all I need to say here. He's simply awesome.

The only bad thing about seeing Dr Shaker is we can't take him with us when we leave Calgary. He is an excellent listener, prompt and ever ready to discuss issues you are struggling with. He has an excellent knowledge base and if he doesn't know something he will research it and get back to you. He is not a pill pusher and he studies things out- he does not jump to conclusions unlike a lot of doctors I have met. He takes time to talk to you- not just treat you as a number.

I think Dr. Shaker gives doctors a good name. He is patient,understanding and really gives you all his attention.

Excellent compared to previous doctor. I am switching permanently to Dr. Shaker. He is really on the ball and did a great job working through my medical issue to determine the cause.

Saw Dr Shaker first thing this morning. I was a bucket of nerves, worrying myself sick. He was patient, thoughtful and most importantly listened. He checked me out, ordered some test and I felt much much better by the time I had left. It was a great experience for me. I'd definitely have no reservations about seeing him again.
