I have a 10 year relationship with Dr Bennett. He listens intently, provides guidance and advise, and has shown to be a kind and descent individual. I like his thoughtful approach. But, in the end, it's his ability to help you see the world as it is while providing you with the skills to navigate the ups and downs of living. The result is that you feel free to get on with life and "carve out the journey ahead."

I have been seeing Dr. Bennett for several years. As previously stated, he is not a hand holder, which is nice. He does try to make you understand that you can only be accountable for yourself and your own well-being. Dr. Bennett is caring and he does listen, and he has not only dispensed tissues to me, but he's also cried with me. I can honestly say that I leave his office feeling better about myself than when I walk in. EVERY TIME. He's an excellent doctor, with TWO degrees from Harvard! ;) (and yes, he WILL let you know that, but NOT in a condescending way, always with humor.)

I am truly grateful for his help and drive an hour each way for our appointments. I can assure you that he's never once witheld my medication OR my care because I owe him money, which I do.

I have been attending Doctor Bennett for over 2 years. He is very compassionate and dispenses helpful advice as well as managing medication. He focuses on getting you (the patient) to put yourself first and be in charge of your own wellbeing. He has a dry sense of humor which I appreciate and has always been very professional.

This is a nasty Dr. His comments are totally inappropriate, and he doesn't listen. He is someone who possibly had skill, empathy and talent at one point in his career but should have retired a very long time ago.

He is disorganized, insulting, arrogant, nasty and dismissive. Enough said?

He's arrogant and he has a very harsh manner. My wife (a physician herself) and I saw him once and he lashed out at her very harshly and he has lashed out at me too. For example, he used an obscenity and called my thinking "idiotic" -- true, perhaps, but he framed it in a very harsh way and I was taken aback by the swearing. I do not recommend this doctor. Find someone else.

Dr. Bennett is a breath of fresh air in the psychiatric world. He is not the most picture-perfect professional I've ever worked with but he is definitely comfortable in his quirkiness. He will make it known that he went to Harvard...several times. He reminds me a lot of my grandfather - too smart for his own good, sometimes. Now and then his advice was a bit alarming and would make me a bit uncomfortable but I mostly attributed it to my anxiety and PTSD with know-it-all men. I know he meant well. I was on time, obnoxiously so, for every appointment, for nearly a year. .. but my first offense he said he would have to charge me $150. He's up front about this during your first meeting. I thought he would at least consider my punctual history and my first offense. He did this even after knowing the BS I was going through financially and having to move due to a negligent landlord, etc. I am a bit shocked at my record of being so on time and punctual and considerate being completely thrown out the door for one accidental missed appointment while I'm losing my mind with stress currently. I'm sad that he thinks this is OK. I'm sad that now I have to go without one of my medications for ADHD for a month until my appointment with a new psychiatrist. I have dealt with worse - one month will not kill me - but it is not necessary and should have been reconsidered. I am not paying the $150.

I've been seeing Dr. Bennett for 10+ years. I am eternally grateful for his counsel. He will not hold your hand; he will not tell you what you want to hear. But he will tell you what you need to hear to make you stronger.

Bennett is a diamond in the rough among the mental health community. He is a truth teller, a cheerleader and a consummate knowledge base on psychopharmacological matters. If you're looking for a shrink that you want to manage, look elsewhere, if your looking for a DR that can help you give him a shot.
