I knew Mark when he was a Resident at UC-Davis. He was knowledgeable enough about OB/GYN, but rather aloof to the Nursing staff.Didn’t have the greatest bedside manner though. Nice enough guy, but sadly, he sure didn’t age well. (As I recall, he enjoyed camping, but the other Nurses said his wife refused to go anywhere she couldn’t plug in her hair dryer) He was rather vain. I guess Karma IS “a b*%ch”-

Great and knowledgeable physician. He is experienced, which patients will appreciate. He doesn't seem to overtreat either.

I am confident he knows his stuff. He is a great surgeon an knows what he knows. I agree he is not interested in after care or discussions regarding side effects after. I find he is a little impersonal, pretty much a 5 minute follow up appt. Not the kind of dr that you feel that patient doctor connection to. Seems rushed. His nurses are Excellent!I do like that you can email him and he always responds.

Dr. Rettenmaier has been very informative before, during and after all of my treatment. He always takes the time to explain everything in detail. My family and I feel very blessed to have him as my doctor. I feel confident that I am getting the best care from him and his staff.

Dr. Rettenmaier is a competent surgeon, but he has no interest in before and after care. Very brusk and hurried. Makes one feel one is on an assembly line.
