I’ve been seeing Carol for over 10 years for sleep apnea. She has been extremely supportive. Would not see anyone else for this problem.

A forewarning to patients, DO NOT see this doctor in particular. She is extremly judgemental, rude and condescending. She makes you feel more uncomfortable than being comfortable which is wrong. Specialists are supposed to support and help you. This visit I had with her will be my first and last. She is a disgrace and should not have the title of "Doctor" she is far from ever being able to be called that, if I may say so myself. Her demeanor and attitude towards patients are appauling! Absolutley would not recommend her whatsoever.

If you have idiopathic hypersomnia, DO NOT SEE CAROL!!! She informed me that IH was often due to head trauma (not true) and when I told her of a sleep episode when I slept 18.5 hours straight without meaning to, she told me that I needed to tell myself to wake up in the morning. IH is likely caused by a substance in the CSF that overstimulates GABA receptors. This is what opiates and benzodiazepines do. Therefore "telling myself to wake up" is not going to help. If you have IH and feel lost and scared about your diagnosis, join the Major Somnolence Disorder Facebook group and look up LivingWithHypersomnia.com and the Hypersomnia foundation. I'm sure Carol is a great option for patients with some sleep disorders but IH is not one of them.
