Dr. Merzig had been my Dr for about 5 yrs. The whole time he was very kind. He answered all my questions and if I still didn't get it, he'd explain in other ways. He actually listened to my issues and pains instead of ignoring them and diagnosing me w/out even hearing me out so they could get paid and move on to the next. I only stopped seeing him bc I had to leave the area. I'm bck now and will be calling him in hopes to pick up right where we left off. I heard that he now no longer accepts my medicaid part of my insurance (i have medicare/medicaid) but that he is willing to work with you on payments as well as not charge you $1500+ just to walk in and talk for five minutes like most. And he will see you as long as needed, and is always on time, if not you know he is running behind as soon as you arrive and even then not a long wait. I can't wait to set up an appt & see him again. I know my quality of life will be cared about and turn for the better!!

I found Dr.Merzig to be very knowledgeable regarding his area of expertise however he had NO bedside manner. He was abrupt and rude and disrespectful to my concerns.I had some questions that he would not answer and then as much as accused me of going there for disability when in fact I couldn't even walk on one of my feet due to severe gout. He should never compare himself to his patients in determining their treatment. I think getting an appointment with a specialist in 4 days 2 of which were a weekend says it all unfortunately!!!! Shame on you for the way you treated me! I would not go back to see him if my life depended on it! Reported to my insurance company...

Doctor Merzig is the best arthritis Doctor out there. I didn't know what was wrong with me and was deteriorating fast. I thank God for him and him for treating me. I moved away and without his treatment am going down. He may seem cold to some but look deeper he is warm, loving, caring and I trust him with my life. It takes a little time to "get him" but don't worry given a little time not only will you "get him" but you won't be able to live without him.

Aweful, Aweful, Aweful!!! Dr Merzig is a miserable prick, and he may know what he's doing, but his lousy personality and rudeness goes beyond his knowledge. I use a different doctor now, and I couldn't be happier..

Great Doctor!! Diagnosed my problem quickly. Very, very thorough and very professional. Explained things to me so I could understand. When I questioned a drug because I didn't know anything about it, he replied that he would NEVER prescribe anything he thought would hurt a patient, that he 'had to sleep at night,' so he would not prescribe anything recklessly. Love him! People seem to judge him on his personality (he is quiet and very professional), but he DOES have a good personality and he KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING and that's most important to me! He has a patient for life - me!!

I did not receive any help from dr. merzig. I did not like the way he handled my case. Even though the staff was nice, I didn't appreciate his condescending remarks and rude behavior either. I feel worse than i was to begin with. I wish i never went to his office.

Dr Merzig has changed my life the two years I have been treated by him for Ankylosing spondilitus. He carefully explained my treatment options, has sent me for mutiple tests to insure I am at my optimal health. He is knowledgable, up front and very supportive of my progress. Staff are wonderful. I get my labs drawn on the same floor as his office and he has on site diagnositic imaging. I have no idea why anyone would rate him in a negative way. I have recommended two co workers to him who are very pleased. Unfortunately I think that some people are just unhappy and look for someone to make them happy. Maybe they should see a therapist instead. He is the best!

I was diagnosed with RA on my very first appt. This Dr. stole 5 yrs of my life with drastic drugs. Second opinion showed that I did not have RA. He has treated other patients in the same way. Turns out that I have fibro and now am doing fine. Stay away from this Dr.
