I had heard good things about this practice and had met Jess at my sister's birth, she was very impressive. While Jess was great, I was not as impressed with Elaine. She was rough with exams and did not care when I mentioned that it did not hurt when the others checked me. She had a temper tantrum during my birth, my baby was 2 oz. shy of 10lbs and was stuck, so I was not Ms. Congeniality, and Elaine ripped off her gloves, stormed out of the room and did not come back for at least 20 minutes. She had a fake warmth about her and was not at all what I had hoped for when I chose midwives for my prenatal care. Maybe we just didn't click or maybe it is time for her to retire, but her behavior was far from professional and not at all what I had wanted. If you have easy labors and/or births, she might be good for you, but if you know that you have rougher ones, stay away! I loved Jess and Cheryl, but you get the midwife who is on call and I drew the short straw.
